    We enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed our stay. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. Our rooms were lovely. Very large and cozy. The fireplace was wonderful. The food was great. My favorite part of our stay was the morning live jazz at breakfast. The owner was part band and it was a sweet touch. We were with 8 people and our stay could not have been better.

Charming town full of history and the connection to the American Impressionism group. While my purpose to be in the area was to enjoy the show at Ivoryton Playhouse, which is the oldest continuing summer theater ( now year round ), you can get to the shore easily. Old Saybrook, Westbrook, Niantic, Mystic, NewLondon etc…. Chester is wonderful to grab a delicious baked good! Only 40 mins from West Hartford too.

This town is interesting - a very fancy, small town.

This town is interesting - a very fancy, small town. The Florence Griswald Museum is beautiful and worth the trip. There are several art museums, and places to participate in lessons and actually create fine art. There are hiking trails, a great place for a massage, and a lot of charm. It is proximate the the water, and you can kayak or participate in boating. There are amazing biking trails. Old Lyme is worth a visit.

I was in town for the memorial service of a dear friend of 50 years so it was a sad time for me. The area is pristine! The countryside like a jewel yet so close to the main highway...a perfect location.

The key to the outside of the inn did not work and the number for the innkeeper was incorrect, so we were unable to get back in at night. My request for a vegan option for breakfast was not honored, even though it was confirmed by the inn prior to our arrival. The owner did not appear particularly sincere in his apologies. He did not portray a caring attitude. I would not recommend this inn to anyone.

Not much to do except for the Florence Griswold Art Museum.

Not much to do except for the Florence Griswold Art Museum. Very interesting story about the art colony that thrived there around the turn of the century. Also had excellent lunch outdoors looking at the Lieutenant River. Other than that, not much else to do.
