Congress Hall, hotel in Cape May

History buffs welcome: Congress Hall has overlooked the Atlantic Ocean, in the town of Cape May, New Jersey, for over 200 years.

The property is so beautiful and it's clearly very well maintained. Staff clearly care about this historic place. Staff was very friendly. Special shout out to parking valets and Blue Pig server, and cafe staff who we interacted with and were so kind. Blue Pig food was delicious, all of us loved our meals and thus returned again for breakfast the next day. It was chilly during our stay we just loved that a staff member kept the fireplace going with wood which was a special touch for our leisurely breakfast. Our room in south wing was more spacious than we expected and we loved the decor. We did not have a view in our room but loved sitting for a bit in the alcove between the 2nd and 3rd floor on the nice sofas with the gorgeous view of the gardens and ocean beyond.

The Virginia and Cottages, hotel in Cape May

This restored 1879 building is located in the historic district of Cape May.

Room 309 had a lot of noise from the kitchen up until 10:15pm. Luckily I'm a night owl and my husband's hearing is diminished. I was just surprised to hear so much banging, clanging and loud voices. We stayed in room 308 a month prior and we didn't hear anything. We still love it there!

Cape May is a beautiful historic town with a beautiful sandy white beach and promenade you can talk a long walk on. The views are scenic. The beautiful Victorian bed and breakfast homes are breathtaking. The MAC theatre group in town runs fun events year round. The have many restaurants, hotels, and shops. The Mall at Cape May has many unique shops. It is expensive to stay in Cape May unless you get off season specials. Also, it is very crowded everywhere in Cape May. You will have long waits for breakfast and dinner and parking is very difficult. Come with your patience and money and you will have a wonderful time.

I have been traveling to Cape May several times a year since childhood. It has grown on many ways, such as the arts, culture and historical learning opportunities. Cape May M.A.C also ensures preservation of the nation's oldest seaside resort. The town offers unique dining and shopping experiences as well wineries and countless activities all while maintaining Cape May's historical integrity!

Cape May is a beautiful place to relax and take in all the historical views. The weather was bad but we still managed to enjoy the wineries and were able to go on the Whale Watcher excursion (2hours) and see some dolphins. The shops and restaurants are also a great experience. We love checking out new places to have breakfast in. Overall, Cape May is great to visit in the summer, as well as in the Fall.

Horse & carriage tour with the history of Cape May.

Horse & carriage tour with the history of Cape May. So many beautiful homes. There is much to enjoy at Cape May. It's just a matter of choice and how much time available. Lots of interesting shops which we did not visit. We did visit the Church down by the Washington Street shops. Drove by the Emlen Physick house.

Wonderful staff, courteous and helpful. Excellent Restaurant and Service Great location to the Beach. Lounge chair on the beach so helpful ..just bring your own towels. Clean Room in Kings Court; however AC was too loud for sleeping in that section of Hotel. We stayed in Bldg #1 IN THE PAST AND AC was fine.

From the get-go you could tell how clean the hotel was! And the room was pristine! Perfectly made up and clean! They even made flowers out of the bath tissues! The hotel staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, even at 4 in the morning! They were always available to assist you! We loved the shuttle service that would take us back and forth throughout Cape May. The bell hops and shuttle drivers were so nice and friendly. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay!

The staff at check-in and check-out were so friendly and engaging. The room was immaculate, and very clearly sanitized in addition to being just cleaned. The location was great, and the suggestion of using Cape May Free Ride to get to the wedding I was attending that night was perfect. It was close enough that I safely walked back to the hotel that night when it was cooler. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

Bartender at the hotel restaurant was extremely pleasant and had a striking resemblance to the actor Russell Crow! He was so friendly and made fantastic drinks!! The bonus at this hotel was the free use of the lounge chairs and umbrellas on the beach! They set up the umbrellas and remove them when you are finished. This is a great hotel and we will be back?

Very short drive to Cape May. Very quiet neighborhood. Plenty of available parking. House was indeed cozy, though the lower level remained chilly even with the heat on.(late December stay). House was well appointed, beds were very comfortable and there were lots of thoughtful touches throughout.
