Nice little town in a spectacular location near fabulous Capital Reef National Park. Liked the well stocked Chuck Wagon General Store with attached laundromat and helpful, friendly owner. Especially liked the nearby Color Country Animal Welfare Center which is a no-kill shelter with a wonderful staff, which also provides affordable boarding for people traveling with dogs so they can hike in the park which doesn't allow dogs on most trails. Would stay in the area again.

Torrey is a lovely little town with a small farmers market during the season. It has some cute shops. I wish the restaurants stayed open later but is was "off-season. It's close to Capitol Reef.

Torrey is a small charming town.
Torrey is a small charming town. It has several good food options. A local store, the Chuckwagon, that you can find your basic items at plus some more. They had a small farmers market Saturday evening. There is a book store and cute gift store as well. There are many overnight staus here. I reccomend Cougar Ridge. Beautiful!

Here you get all the beauty of Sedona, while leaving the crowds behind. This part of the world is easily some of the most beautiful. Torrey is right at the base of Boulder Mountain which offers all the activities typical to forested areas, while Capitol Reef National Park offers stunning desert rock formations. Enjoy one of America's great roads on Utah State Route 12 -- worth driving the whole thing.

Torrey is a small town in central Utah.
Torrey is a small town in central Utah. It is 10 miles west of Capitol Reef National Park. There are not many facilities to accommodate the ever growing number of visitors. Unfortunately, prices for lodging, food, camping and services keep rising at a faster rate than inflation. The attraction is the nation park and BLM recreation lands, such as Grand Staircase- Escalante National Monument, and the scenery. The restaurants, and now food trucks, charge above average prices for average food. The best value in town is the Chuckwagon Deli and Grocery Store.

For those who live within 3-4 hours from Torrey, this is a great weekend get-away. Capital Reef is very understated. Most travelers end up in Zion or Bryce Canyon. Capital Reef has fabulous scenery and vistas. The sunsets, sunrises and the stars at Promontory will be forever stamped in my mind. Capital Reef is on the national night sky list and you can see why when you visit. This is an amazing park, has trails for all levels of hiking, petroglyph's right off the road. In addition, it is the gateway to Goblin Valley, Bryce Canyon and Canyonlands and hop on over via 70 to Moab.
Staff was friendly and efficient. Room was enormous, quiet, and very clean. Hotel sits on a rim overlooking the beautiful red rock country and views are wonderful. The attached restaurant, open for dinner only, was the best I've been to in years. It is on level with meals in NYC and Denver, without the dress code. (Options for breakfast and lunch available nearby.) Being so close to Capitol Reef National Park, staying at this property lets you get there early to avoid crowds or go back in the evening to enjoy the dark skies.
I stayed in a Conestoga wagon with my kids. Daytime temps were in the high 90s, so the wagon was uncomfortable during the day unless I was right by the A/C unit. Thank goodness for the pool! The private bathroom also has A/C, which was a nice reprieve. The kids ate breakfast from the hotel each morning and loved the selection. The staff was awesome and the grounds were perfect with the best views and even a playground! Easy access to everything Torrey had to offer and close to Capitol Reef.
Great location. Close to Capitol Reef National Park and just outside of the town of Torrey.
Awesome views from the rear patio. Everything was new and clean, being that the hotel just recently opened.
The bathroom was large and had a hand held shower head which I prefer.
Parking is free and just outside your room, which is convenient. But, it is a dirt and gravel lot.
The beds were large and comfortable and the complimentary drinks and snacks were refilled daily.
It was a small hotel. Nice country views. Great staff very friendly. I dealt with Michelle on the phone and she was great and very accommodating. I had made a mistake on dates she called me and helped me out. Steven was our host for the night and he also was great. Guided us to some good BBQ very near the hotel.
I loved the location of this motel which was exceptionally close to Capitol Reef hikes and the historic town of Torrey. The room I stayed in had 2 queen beds and was very comfortable. There were llamas, teepees, and covered wagons near the resort. This motel was close to a variety of restaurants.
Great location near Capitol Reef National Park. Convenient on-site diner/deli/market for breakfast or lunch and hiking/camping supplies. Well maintained pool and hot tub to soak the aching muscles. Friendly staff. Several delicious nearby restaurants too.
We had a 2-bedroom cabin and it was nice to spread out. Little living room and kitchen was very nice after multiple night in "Hotel" rooms. Coffee in the deli next door in the morning was great.
the room was large, with a coffee machine, kettle and plenty of tea bags, which is appreciated when you don't drink coffee
good location near Capitol Reef
A one night stopover in Torrey on a roadtrip - the room was comfortable. Breakfast was tasty. There were some renovations but it did not impact our stay.
