Beautiful town, lots of places to eat and have a beer; know that the weather is extremely unpredictable and hardcore: we had insane winds when we there in beginning of April. We got lucky enough to see Mt Fitz Roy the first day we were there but every day after (3 days) it was covered in clouds, so take that into account for your trip!

Amazing place that can be the base for many adventures!

Amazing place that can be the base for many adventures! We planned our trip to Patagonia leaving more time for El Calafate, but we left thinking we would have preferred to switch this! In El Calafate, everything is much more tourist like and you need to pay for basically every tour you’re going to. Chalten felt more chilled and like you can just leave the hostel and go do your own thing without necessarily paying for an agency to take you somewhere. It’s a very charming little place with great food and local beers available, so very cosy and welcoming after a long day of hiking

We loved El Chalten!! The hiking is incredible! And the town is adorable. Love the little local food places. Since the weather is so variable it was nice to have an extra day in our schedule to wait for a clear day for hiking. We all filled it with horse back riding, climbing and birding so no one was bore.

Room is comfort and clean. Excellent breakfast. I had a car accident at April 3 at El Chalten. The two young girls at front desk helped me to report the accident to rental car company. Helped us to reschedule our flight. Also help us reported accident to insurance company. I can’t thank them enough. I don’t know Spanish, without their help we could do nothing. The two young girls set examples for us. My wife and I will keep it in our mind to help people with love. Make the world more wonderful. Thanks again.

The hosts were genuinely caring and nice people. Very welcoming and was already waiting for us upon arrival into the city. Their hospitality touched our hearts with a very well stocked kitchen and homemade bread for us! Thank you. We were able to experience snow and also make the hike to Fitz Roy halfway. Hosts provided a thermos to use for Yerba mate! The hosts were very helpful and the cabin was very clean and comfortable. The shower was also great pressure. Much better than any hotel or hostel.

Very helpful staff, in particular at check in and the hiking guide who was available with excellent suggestions each evening. Our trip was even more enjoyable due to some of the hiking recommendations. The view of the valley from the bar and restaurant is stunning and the hotel has one of the best locations for views in El Chalten. Breakfast had a nice selection, we particularly enjoyed the fresh fruit each morning. The jacuzzi area was a nice addition. Beds were very comfortable.

The staff was very friendly, the breakfast was yummy, and the dining area was cozy. The location was great because we were right in the middle of all the restaurants and bars that make up the center of El Chalten. Everything was easily walkable. The rooms was simple but clean. I thought that we would be able to get some views of the beautiful mountains surrounding El Chalten, but I think most rooms in this hotel do not offer these types of views.

The studio apartment was spacious with astonishing views. Everything necessary for self catering was provided. There is a full time desk who is very helpful with maps and directions. It is clean and beautiful and central for bus station and hiking trails and restaurants and shops. On its own merits it is excellent value- by El Chaltén standards and in comparison with other lodging choices it is in a class of its own.

The friendly and knowledgeable staff made a huge difference on my trip. They helped me figure out how to make the most of my time in El Chalten no matter what the weather had in store that day. The location is great. It's just off one of the main streets so while the hotel is quiet, you're just steps away from some of the best restaurants, bars, and shops that the El Chalten has to offer.

    - Great staff. Everybody was super helpful - Very good location at the main road. Many bars and restaurants close by - Superb view from the balcony. You can see the top of Fitz Roy (if it is not cloudy) - walls are not paper-thin as I have experienced in many other places in Argentina - Bed was very comfortable (especially after a long day of trekking)

Exceptional hotel, perfect in every way except perhaps wi fi and power/water pump that can be random, but that can happen anywhere in El Chalten! Very friendly staff and super comfortable room. Neat option for back packer cooking upstairs. Close to bus station and cafes and supermarket. Mountain views. Would recommend to anyone.

The common area, location, and staff were fantastic. Try and contact the hostel directly book and to pay cash. The town books out in the high season. Booking.com will charge you double (the exchange rate is... Interesting in Argentina). Do the work to figure out the blue dollar.

The location is on the main strip of hotels and hostels, so it’s convenient. Rooms are tight but beds were comfortable. I had the top bunk and felt a little wobble climbing up and being on top. The washrooms are spacious, with wide shower stalls and changing area.

It's one of the few hostels at El Chaltén. Considering the location of the town, the place allows you to use the kitchen to make your own food which can help you to save some money if you're staying for more than two days.
