This has been the best island that we have visited to date very clean great beaches and plenty to see
Traveling around was easy as roads are good, Sat Nav in rental car was a bit hit and miss
There different colors of the sea are a must to see and take pictures
We were very lucky had a BBQ at a popular beach and it happened to be a very good place to see a sunset that evening

The center city is not very lively or pretty.
The center city is not very lively or pretty. The island is rather rural with lots of banana, tobacco, and sugar cane plots. However, the suburb areas near the beaches are beautiful. I would recommend a resort as the available activities are limited to outdoors and dining. A car is required to get around. Unsure if there is any nightlife in the area.

Wonderful and beautiful place, the color of the sea amazing, many interesting sites to visit BUT you NEED a car (to rent a car). The public transportation is almost non existent (there is a bus to the airport). The island is too big for the bicycle, and too hilly.

During Golden Week, you must book an Izakaya for dinner ahead of time. If you try to walk into a restaurant, they will be fully booked or not let you in. Some of the locals seemed to discriminate against foreigners but not other Japanese tourists.

It’s a magical island and I didn’t see as much as I wanted due to a 4 day typhoon where we needed to stay inside…typhoons are common but not this long! But the accommodation was very flexible and offered extra nights at reduced cost
I’ll be back to complete my sightseeing outside of typhoon season!

Beautiful place, nice diving and snorkeling sites, since this is a remote island, the sea and environment are preserved well, you may enjoy the underwater world with just 2 hours flight from Hong Kong
The property itself is great location. You can also rent scooter from shops nearby if you want to get around. Just remember that you need a Japanese license or an international license if you are a foreigner. Max is an excellent host. You can ask him anything about Miyako and he will help you out. He helped me find dive shops so I could scuba dive in Miyako. The place is very relaxing and you will feel at home. The other guests where really cool and friendly. I even had hot plate with them.
We loved everything about this place! Atsushi and staff were absolutely amazing - so friendly and helpful, Atsushi even took us snorkelling!
The place is cozy, clean and very close to a small beach. We had everything we needed and more during our stay and would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking to stay on miyako island! They also have a very cute dog and offer a car rental service which you definitely need to make the make of the island.
This apartment hotel is very convenient, well located with a supermarket not far (by car). As there is a functionnal kitchen it is convenient for meals there.
The location is good in Miyakojima, the most famous beaches are reachable by car in less than 30 min.
The apartment is quiet, the room is big and clean, the bed is comfortable.
There is a heater in the bathroom to dry the clothes if necessary, as there is a washing machine.
This is a brand new hotel. The rooms are modern and extremely clean with every amenity you might want, compact but well-appointed, with large bathrooms.
Nice common area to sit around with a drink in the evening- it has a balcony overlooking sugarcane fields with the sea in the distance.
The hosts are two of the kindest people I've met- they went out of their way to ensure I had the best holiday!
Great location within walking distance to beaches, supermarket, and bars. Spacious and comfortable for 3 adults workationing as there is a table with 3 seats and a sofa. Kitchen good for cooking. And the washing plus drying machines come in handy for travellers carrying few pieces of clothing who go to the beach every day. All of this at a very reasonable price per person! Totally recommend.
The hotel was in a central location to restaurants, bars, and shops. It’s a far walk to the beach. The restaurants claimed to be full, so make reservations before going.
Definitely rent a car to be able to explore the island and the connected islands.
The hotel is modern, clean, and comfortable. The rooms are a very nice size. The breakfasts were fine, Japanese style.
If you have a hire car this location is great especially for the price. Not a super busy area but central enough to be anywhere within a quick drive. Free and easy parking as well. Room was nice, big and comfortable with good view as well. Fantastic base to explore the island from. Very kind staff on top of everything.
Clean, decent-sized (especially for Japan) room with most of the basic facilities you'd need and a comfy bed. Free parking included. Close to city centre and a short walk from all the bars, restaurants and night-life. Painagama Beach is walkable too. Free laundry facilities. Check-out time can be extended for a fee.
One of few affordable stays that gives you ocean views. You need a car if you stay here but if you have one it has easy access to most places you’d like to get to. Balcony is a big plus. Kitchen and the utensils are basic but satisfactory. You have access to the facilities at the main Shigira resort.
Very cute guesthouse, the owner is really kind and has lots of recommendations. We even rented bikes for free. If available (first come, first serve) you can also rent two e-bikes for a small fee. However, a car is strongly recommended for the island and also for the location of the guesthouse.
We had a fantastic ocean view from our room. We had the room at the Santa Monica Sunset with balcony overlooking the ocean. The hotel staff were very friendly.
The breakfast was fantastic!
A 3 star hotel but with service of a 5 star hotel.
Very conveniently located next to sunset beach. All the other beaches we drove were also very close, maybe 20 minutes maximum which made our stay very comfortable.
The city center was 5 min by taxi and mere 440¥ so very very convenient
Hotel is centrally located, very comfortable, clean and have all the amenities you need and they offer transfer to and from the airport.
There is free parking and a lounge with coffee, tea
easy to find near beaches and restaurants.
love the room. but the other is that it so noisy upstairs but there's nothing we can do. but all in all it was great.
