Darling little town, with lots of opportunities to taste the wines of the area. Most tastings do not cost, but it seems appropriate to buy some wine at the establishments you visit.
We really enjoyed the staff at Vinadea, where we were able to ask questions and try wines from many producers.
We learned a lot and really enjoyed the wines at Ogier Winery. The staff was very informative, and the property is beautiful.
We did a drive through the vineyards and visited a few smaller estates/producers and enjoyed the overall passion everyone has for their wines.
This is a place for Rhone wine lovers!

We try to return yearly for the wine.
We try to return yearly for the wine. New restos now this year. We had a drink and a snack at La Part des Anges on the terrace like usual and were charged 5 euros for sitting at the table . No place inside to sit, kind of a mess ( chairs, tables, buggy) noted on the way to the WC. Lots of locals drinking their expressos. The owner also runs the bakery next door so we had great croissants/ coffee early the next morning, Great town for walks and mostly free tastings. Polite to buy a bottle.

The village is charming, retaining its historic ambience.
The village is charming, retaining its historic ambience. Not sure if there is a great deal to do there other than eat and visit the dozens of wine cellars that line the main street. Wine tasting is de rigueur and it is surprising how different are the various wines on offer, and the prices. The problem we experienced was with finding places to eat, as on the second night of our stay (a Thursday) most of them in the village were closed. However we had a really good meal at the Restaurant Le Pistou on our first night (but closed the following night due to a family bereavement), and can really recommend the Restaurant La Mere Germaine where we had a most enjoyable lunch. Finally, La Garbure offered an excellent set menu for 27 Euros each, excluding wine and coffee.

Chateauneuf du Pape is small and everything of interest is easily accessible by foot. There are great wines to try in the village and the surrounding area. The chateau is very impressive and the views over the Rhone valley and across to Mont Ventoux are super.

A slightly run down town in the centre of the famous eponymous wine-growing region. Quaint, and full of character. A tad disappointing that so few tasting rooms were open on a Thursday evening in mid June. The tasting room of Gonnet Pere et Fils was excellent.
Dinner at the very busy Le Pistou was authentic and local. The service was friendly and attentive.

We have stayed at La Sommellerie several times and have enjoyed every stay. The facilities are charming. The staff is friendly and professional. The breakfast buffet is wonderful and the gourmet dinners outstanding. There is a pool and a quiet terrace to sit and enjoy the morning and evening. it is located a short distance away from the Rhône where there is an excellent bike and walking trail. it is located about five minutes from Chateauneuf-du-pape and a short drive to Tavel, Seguret, Orange, and Avignon.
This is a modest but very comfortable, well maintained and very agreeable apartment in the heart of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. It is situated just at the base of the stairs to the beautiful ruins of the Chateau, next to an ancient and beautiful church, and close to the finest restaurants in the village. The large windows facing east provided a charming view of the rooftops across the street and the spectacular countryside beyond. Our host was very agreeable, friendly and attentive.
An excellent location. Made a good home base . Easy to explore surrounding towns
The cottage was very clean well thought out and comfortable
Our hosts were friendly and helpful . Provided good tips re parking in Avignon and restaurant in Châteauneuf-du-Pape
They also informed us of a special dinner with wine pairings in a nearby chateau that was a lovely experience
Recommend highly Looking forward to staying here again one day
It was a great location for visiting the wineries in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape region! It in the heart of the town. Modern, large apartment on three floors. It had everything you would need. Easy to walk to the restaurants, grocery store, boulangerie, pharmacy, and tasting rooms in town. I would stay here again. It was easy to communicate with the owner about the stay.
We stayed one night in an apartment of Le Willow. The host was really kind and gave some recommendations for wine houses to visit. Because that is what you do in Châteauneuf-du-Pape! The apartment is very central, so you can easily walk from winehouse to winehouse. We had a great time here and definitely looking forward to our next visit!
We were looking for a ol as out of town and found it here. There is a great bike path on the banks of River Rhône to Châteauneuf-du-Pape which is fun to ride. And there are backstreets through the vineyards back to the hotel - most beautiful. Make sure you dine at the hotel at night. Great food and a nice selection of good wines.
The hosts are so lovely, they helped us with anything we needed and gave us lots of recommendations for the area! We stayed in the private room which had a balcony with an amazing view over the vineyards. Very spacious and comfortable room with private bathroom with a bath. Perfect location to walk into Chateauneuf-du-Pape.
Spectacular hotel in a wonderful location, with a great view over Chateauneuf-du-Pape vineyards. This must be a total dream in the summer time - we were there in the beginning of December and enjoyed it thoroughly.
Great restaurant!
Exceptionally attentive staff!
The staff were very friendly and helpful. We walked into the village for dinner and it started raining heavily when we wanted to get back- we would have had to wait for a taxi to be sent over from Avignon but instead one of the hotel staff came to pick us up!
everything, it was a beautiful venue, breakfast was good, room was good, staff were very helpful . very peaceful and the village (3k away) was also beautiful with a great restaurant and lots of wine options. you can also by drinks in the hotel
Excellent style!
The view from the bathroom was excellent.
Pierre is extremely nice and helpful. Thank you!
He certainly could use more help at the hotel, but good staff is hard to come by these days.
We’d certainly come back.
great location- 5 minutes walk to restaurants, tasting shops, grocery store. Less than 1/2 hour drive to Vacqueyras and Gigondas. Very large renovated apartment. Comfortable and user friendly. Private parking spot.
This was the best accomodation we have had in France. Excellent hosts in a fabulous old stone building surrounded by vineyards and on the banks of the Rhone. We loved this place and the people we met there.
Staff went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Selene and Nicoletta were amazing as part of the front desk staff. They truly have something special in Hotel La Mere Germaine.
