Needed somewhere to stay off the evening ferry from Portsmouth to Caen. Ferry delayed so didn't arrive at hotel till midnight. Phoned staff and they arranged room entry. Motel style with rooms opening straight onto carpark. Condition of room good but quite small. Very clean. Very good breakfast with wide selection of hot and cold. Safe overnight parking. Would stay again and recommend. Wifi OK.

Loved the staff, the Michelin Star restaurant in the hotel and the incredible meal, and the spaciousness of the room. The beautiful courtyards and overall windows and lighting create an inviting ambiance.

An uncomfortable room at back of hotel.
An uncomfortable room at back of hotel.
Room was too hot air conditioning didn’t work and made clunking noises all night long.
Positioning of beds meant when you moved in the night the pillows pushed the light switch on, obviously waking us up each time.

A very strange town architecturally.
A very strange town architecturally. Appears to have been a 1960's experiment or competition for alternative designs which have not blended or aged very well in time.
Many now vacant and an eyesore. A rather neglected town including a vast dated shopping mall, again with a lot of vacant units.

Hotel basic but room adequate. Very clean - impressed with that. Staff on front desk friendly. No bar no lounge for an aperitif. Starter and desert buffet good but main courses not cooked to order. What main courses were on offer not good. They were kept warm amd you helped yourself. NOT IMPRESSED. Hotel had a lot going for it but MUST improve the food. I booked 3 trips and had to pay in advance. Done two. If the 3rd visit has not improved the food I will not book again.

We chose Caen for an overnight stop after ferry crossing to Cherbourg. Hotel Mercure Cote De Nacre was excellent. All staff were polite and efficient with special mention to Receptionist who spoke perfect English. Room was very comfortable and we chose a Privilege room which was well worth the extra price. Secure car park which was important to us.
Excellent stopover hotel for cross channel users. Very good 4 star comfort, secure parking in quiet area, quality breakfast which included a thoughtful home made chocolate cake, restaurant opened at 6.30am, super convenient for us with an 8 hour drive ahead. Super pleasant and helpful overnight receptionist.
Coolest family hotel room ever! It's so hard to find a hotel room for a family of 5 but this one knocked it out of the park. Separate room for the kids & also separate rooms for shower & toilet. Hotel breakfast was amazing & the staff were kind & accommodating. Would go to Caen again just for this hotel!
We've stayed here a few times now and would choose to stay again. The price is good for the room/hotel, it's small but very comfortable for one night, parking is good and it is convenient and close to where we want to go. The staff are friendly and the bed very comfortable and a good powerful shower.
Best Value for this amount of money!Nice quite location 5 klm from the city with Free parking everyone was so much friendly with first the chief of the hotel, always with a smile to help if any needed.it was so nice and we were happy that we booked this hotel.
We have visited this hotel several times before under its previous name, the Campanile & wondered what changes there might be in store. However our stay was as anticipated & we had no serious issues. All in all, for one night, it was a pleasant stay.
The room was quite adequate for one person. Having a facility to make hot drinks was ideal. Only a very short walk tu the Restaurant. Good variety of produce for Breakfast, although overpriced compaired to other Hotels.
Perfect for our needs of a oversight stay before the ferry home. The room was excellent with separate bedrooms for adults and children and the cleanliness was great. The overall look and feel of the hotel was fab.
