Medieval History and Charming Architecture
With 1,200 years of history, Bremen is a lovely city located in northwest Germany. Once part of the Hanseatic League, it's hosted one of the world’s oldest fairground festivals, the Freimarkt, since 1066!
Most of historical buildings can be found around the central Marktplatz. Dominated by the town hall with its Bremen Ratskeller, a council wine cellar with a collection of over 600 German wines, the Marktplatz features the statues of Roland, the city’s legendary protector, and the Town Musicians, animals from the Grimm Brothers’ tales.
From there, you can stroll towards the Schnoor, the city’s oldest quarter with narrow, cobbled streets, half-timbered houses and supposedly the world’s smallest hotel with just one room! One of the city’s major attractions, Böttcherstrasse, a street famous for its expressionist architecture, is also close by.
Walk down the Schlachte, which used to be a harbor and now is an important riverside boulevard with plenty of bars and pubs, where you can sit down and enjoy the beer from the local Beck’s Brewery.
Bremen Airport is just a short tram ride from the Old Town and with the help of Booking.com, you can find many hotels near the airport or in central Bremen.

We were just driving back from our holiday and Bremen was a good place to stop. Only had time to do a short walk after having breakfast in the train station in the morning. Bremen was a delight to visit, although I did not get to do much sightseeing as I was attending a course. The two days I had to explore were kept very full as there was a lot to see, do and experience. The fact that one can walk to many places, combined with the great public transport system made exploring the city a lot of fun. Overall, the people I met during my stay were very friendly and happy to communicate with me in English, particularly after I tried yo use my very limited German. The food and drink that I had the pleasure of tasting was delicious, especially all the tasty breads, pasteries, chocolates and coffee. I would very much like to visit again.AAnonymous - 10Scored 10

We came for the Christmas market and birthday celebration or our son. The busy time for market it from 5 and started to ease at 7.30. If u don't want it so busy avoid this time. I wished we went at 7.30 as it was easier to walk around but we still enjoyed our time at the market and visited the church wich was beautiful and added history to our visit. Loved the winding little streets with little coffee sold, pubs and shops. The tram service was really easy to use and it was always on time with shirt waiting times.West - 10Scored 10

Bremen was amazing. We were lucky enough to be there when the festival was on but even without it the area was fantastic. Gorgeous heritage Buildings. Well priced good food. Short walk to shopping and supermarkets. Easy access to bus and tram. Our apartment was so nice it made the trip special. The apartment was adjacent to a fabulous food court that had food from many countries

Bremen is Magic place. Location the hotel is excellent, in the center of old city. Near hotel have lot of very good restaurants with traditional Germany and other food. Craft beer been very exclusive and vary testy.

I definitely do not prefer to stay at a hostel with my family, however since it was named as a&o bremen hbf I did not realized that it is a hostel. The room was not clean. We found a used towel paper on the kids bed. The pictures of the room were far different than the reality. The coffee was terrible. The hotel is situated 5 mins walk away from the airport- you don’t even need a taxi which is awesome! The room was already set up for the four of us after our very long flights, the beds were comfortable, the shower was great and we even made ourselves tea in the room. We also had to bring our cat which thankfully was no problem for the hotel.
