Goslar is an ancient city, part od UNESCO world heritage, so there are many interesting things and museums to isit. Also it's a starting point to explore the hills of Harz and even go to Göttingen or Braunschweig.

With its historic silver mine and timbered buildings it could have been the setting for Snow White. Nonetheless it has modern shops and a lively atmosphere. Walking the old streets is a delight but there is also a forest on a mountain to encourage longer excursions, Driving there is no doubt easy; we found travelling by train from Berlin was also convenient. Beautiful charming old town with not too many tourists. We spent lovely days here. You should definitely visit the old mine. Restaurants in town centre serves nice food. Town has good train service to other places but some trains were extremely busy.

Goslar, great little city.

The old town square is the highlight among many!
The old town square is the highlight among many! There are literally hundreds of really old medieval and impressive buildings to admire. We took a morning guided tour of the town centre, booked on the day through the Tourist Information Centre, which was well worth the fee because you get an expert explanation of many features and buildings which you might otherwise not appreciate. We visited the Imperial Palace but there's not so much to see and the guide spoke only German which might be a problem for those who don't speak the language. Dining possibilities in and around the town square are many and varied. Whilst there, don't miss the carillon/ Glockenspiel at the bottom of the square.

amazing small town with a lot to explore! We didn't do much homework before we visit but after this trip we highly recommend to book on-line tickets for the mining museum tours; it shall be another high light beside city tours!HsinyingTaiwan

From the hotel it is only a 3-minute walk to the Marktplatz. a train station is also in a walking distance. 2. Breakfast: The breakfast is served at the table. It consists of several types of cheeses, spreads, jam and honey, fruits. And if you want, they will also cook an omelet for you. The portion is BIG and it tastes great. Please note that this is a vegetarian hotel/restaurant so no meat product is served here. 3. Staffs: All the staffs that I met here were cheerful and welcoming.

The breakfast was decent, with a good range of fresh fruits, breads, cheese, etc. I travelled with a group of 8 friends and we had 3 rooms. The staff was accomodating and ensured we had a good stay. Swimming pool was awesome, there were times when it was just our group. Also since we went on a weekend, we did not have to pay for on-street parking. Everything is nearby - train station, restaurants, we also got coupons form the hotel for bus rides locally.

Also, there is a private parking space (it is very difficult to park at Goslar) and the price is 2 E, which is absolutely cheap. The staff were very friendly all the time and let me to park my car after my check-out.
