The purpose of the trip was to revisit the FLORIADE Garden...
The purpose of the trip was to revisit the FLORIADE Garden exhibition We found Huizen a quiet comfy town as a base to also visit = Zaans Museum windmills,Cheese,Clogs Volendam=Very busy traditional fishing town .Lots of restaurants,Souvenir. shops,Boat trips Fish stalls(soused herring). We also went to re visit Afslutdijk Dam but this was spoiled by heavy road works and closed visitor centre Back in Huizen we eat in "De Haven van Huizen" alongside the boat moorings Very good Food setting and price.
Next night was "Het Wapen van Huizen"Very welcoming but more of a Pub type experience .Our travel around was by car or foot so we have no knowledge of Public Transport. Beware of cycles! They seem to have right of access everywhere and catch you unaware " silent approach and Bells must be prohibited" Shopping is easy everybody seems to speak good english and are happy to see you. However cash is not the prefered payment (strangely neither is VISA but , Mastercard NO PROB)
No need to overstock on Euros Having traveled by car from the SHUTTLE we found some traffic
congestion but not too bad except ANTWERP although the English are supposed to enjoy queuing this is not recommended GOOD LUCK

We had a room with balcony, which was fantastic, unfortuately it rained a bit while we were there, didn't get to enjoy it much, but would definately recommend it. It was in a lovely location next to the water with some great walking tracks near by. Nothing is too far in Huizen, we walked everywhere. The Restaurants were great, quite a few to choose from with a variety of food and drinks.
Lydeke and Hans have made sure that you have everything that you could possibly need or want at your fingertips and the breakfasts were amazing.
The beds were all comfortable and there were so many places where you could sit and relax.
Lovely quiet and safe area. We will definitely stay here again if we make it back to The Netherlands.
It is a wonderful home close to the center of Huizen. The breakfast (excellent) was provided in the fridge to make it yourself at the time you want. It is a spacious property with tasteful interior. The hosts are very friendly and lovely people. Thank you for taking in account our allergies and food preferences. We felt very welcome!
The location of Fletcher Hotel - Restaurant Nautisch Kwartier was delightful, nestled next to a charming harbour, offering a serene and peaceful atmosphere. The availability of a spacious parking area, shared by the neighbouring businesses, was convenient. Check-in was a breeze, thanks to the efficient receptionists.
Staff was friendly and the room was clean, cosy and of a good size, with a beautiful view of the Marina .
The hotel is close to the " Goois Natuurreservaat" where you can go for beautiful walks.
Dinner at the Marina Lounge was also very nice !
Nice hotel / restaurant, friendly staff, good room, with a balcony, so also a big door to the balcony so a lot of fresh air during the night. Nice terras and inside restaurant. so all over a very pleasant stay. With a nice view on the harbour
