Castelo Branco has grown over the last couple of years, would have loved to explore for another day or two. That being said, the city center has been nicely upgraded with the large square between the former barracks and the Defesa area. Pity that the former swimming pool just under the Castelo has fallen into decay to be substituted by a new swimming pool in the direction of the industrial area, which I hear is a popular venue.

It was very noisy caused by other guests the radio was constantly on in the bedroom even though you could not switch it off I had to go down to reception and get them to turn it off from their office also I only noticed after I left and got to my next hotel that pot of face cream I use which was a brand-new pot and hardly used and still full was empty obviously they had stolen the contents and replaced it with something else which didn’t smell nothing like what was in the pot of cream before I am absolutely disgusted If I’d known they were going to steal from me like that I certainly would have not left the money as a tip on the side and also I would most definitely lock my stuff up everything other than that the food was delicious and the staff were excellent even understanding my English

Loved the city full of historic sites and stunning fountains. A fountain- pool with cristal clean water in the centeral park, where kids were splashing, impressed me. At night there was a free movie theatre below the stars, full of families with children. The city at night is stunning, with all the lights featuring historic objects. The Bishop's Palace with its inumerous fountains and pools, the Castle on the top of the mountain with a strong hidrotechnical construction, still functioning since the 15th century (if I'm not mistaken), was impressive.
A night walk around the old town is definitely worth visiting Castelo Branco!

It has great historical gardens + what is left of a castle to visit.
The Episcopal garden needs to be attended more often so it justifies the 2€ entry and the surrounding areas like a 'possible tea house' + other gates are closed including the museum in loco.
These things made me sad. The pamphlet mentioned the reason why the kings and the saints were put there in statues but would be great to have more history, to dig deeper into our ancestry and tell a story to be more magical.
The down bit of this very short visit is that it was in pure hot summer day and it is very tough to hold the sweat over there. Nonetheless, you have a beautiful garden just in front of the Episcopal where you can see under the tree, go to the nearby cafe and watch the water fountains as well as buy a refreshing drink.
The city is very ancient by the looks of the house buildings. Didn't have much time to visit more places to tell more about this location. Maybe next time or someone else will continue to do this review. :)

Castello Branco is probably the most beautiful and cleanest cities in my visit. Going to the Castle was quite a trek but well worth the effort. Will come back early next year to live out my life here.

The town is a great place with lots to do and see and central to a lot of areas. I was in Portugal buying a property so this area had everything I needed to have. At 135 miles from Lisbon Airport, it was a gentle drive but very easy on the Toll Roads (A1 - North\A23).
Nice area and visually very clean and tidy.
Location was perfect. Everything on walking distance and easy to find. The apartment was easy to acces but felt safe and secure with a code and a key. The hoste was easy to reach and communicate with. Very nice lady. As well as the cleaning staff, they where very nice and helpfull too. Apartment was in top condition, eveything clean and neat. Kitchen was practical with the important tools available. Bathroom was big and nice. And there was airconditioning. I would recommend this to everyone visiting Castelo Branco
The breakfast must be hot and there should be dinner facilities or in the night there should be any snacks that we can buy in the night because the shops are a little bit far from the hotel.we reached at the hotel around 19:40 and it was almost 20:00 when we checkedin and we were hungry so if there was some food that we can buy then we don't need to go outside and the weather was extremlly cold so that's my opinion.the licationit was perfect
Very nice little room for my unexpected one-night stay in Castelo Branco. Great value for a clean, well- located room. Patricio the owner came by as soon as I told him I couldn’t figure out how to turn the heat on and was very helpful.
I parked in the public lot only a two- minute walk away. All in all, a very good experience.
Beautifully renovated property in the countryside. Wonderful staff who went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful stay. We are travelling in off season so hotel was not busy. Thank you especially to Claudia and to the chef you stayed later to prepare and serve us dinner. Excellent beds, spacious rooms with small patios.
The hotel is in very good location, has good parking and the staff are very good and helpful.
The rooms are very good, clean and spacious has new fittings. comfortable bed and aircon. the place is value for money, though by the road side but you don't get traffic sound and can sleep very well.
We rate this hotel 5*
I was so fortunate to have booked this hotel. The restored stone Quinta buildings, the fabulous restaurant on premises all in a
setting which was insanely zen… the only sounds were bird song and the rain. No urban noise.. none. I wish I had brought my wellies for a walk through the orchards.
Well appointed room with balcony. Clean and tidy with plenty of space. Hotel bar was a nice snug room, and the dinner in the restaurant was very good. Breakfast was also good, except the breakfast coffee. Friendly staff. Secure parking for motorcyles.
The hotel was lovely, very clean, and was located perfectly for exploring the area. The staff were very friendly and helpfull. Breakfast buffet provided a large variety so suit all tastes. All covid rules were followed and enforced.
The hotel is very central and we made it base camp to visit Monsanto and other attractions, breakfast was a buffet and abundant. We ate at the hotel one night and food was typical Portuguese and good value for the money.
Budget hotel but very good quality room, a little dated but very clean and comfortable, staff very pleasant and friendly, no breakfast option but provided with juice, fruit, milk and cakes. Very good value.
The hotel room was better than expected and looks better than in the pictures. We also appreciated a lot the renovated bathroom. The room is smaller but enough for two people without a problem.
The setting. The hotel is in a lovely location with excellent security. The restaurant has lovely features and the food is delicious and great value..the room is well decorated and spacious.
Large modern hotel with excellent friendly staff.
Great service, they went out of their way to prepare a special vegetarian meal for us for dinner.
Excellent breakfast.
Clean, modern & quiet n an ideal location with easy access parking across the street for 4 euro for 24 hours. B a perfect spot to live n Castelo Branco city center.
