Mealhada is a village just outside of Coimbra, I travelled there by public transport and was surprised that it was so modest while being so close to Coimbra. The ability to be away from it all while still being close to a large city really appeals to me. I could live there!BernellePortugal

Cristina ( the owner) and her staff made us feel so so welcome, we honestly could have stayed for a month. The problem is that it is in the middle of nowhere with no support. If you are on foot, as I was as a pilgrim, you are stuck. There is no restaurant and no store nearby. Quinta de Lograssol is a standout for the beauty of the property, the kindness of the staff, the room comfort and size. They served us the best breakfast we have had in Portugal AND were kind enough to make it early so we could walk the Camino.
