If you want a quieter vacation without lots of people then Luz is great. There were sufficient places to eat good selection and service with a great view. It was an elegant location. We found a restaurant just out of town that was great value and excellent service.

Luz is a lovely old town on the coast now mostly given over to villas and holiday rentals. Nice coastal walks to Lagos.
We didn't love the restaurants, catering too much for the British I would think. Football showing everywhere.

We like the views along from the pagoda along the promenade and the beach and the variety of cafes and restaurants. Both the supermarkets are good and the bus service is reliable for getting both East and West along the coast.
New to us restaurant Urban had excellent food at great prices and friendly staff.

Luz is a very beautiful beach town with really great amenities. The views of the beach and cliffs are really beautiful. The promenade along the seafront is a marble cobblestone walkway with cafes and restaurants. Small market stalls for trinkets. The restaurants in Luz are top quality and my favourites are ZaZu and Latitude. During high season it is good to book.
There are 2 lots of beach concessions with sun beds and umbrellas. We were always on the beach by 9.30 but beds were Normally all taken by 10am.
Luz is a very family resort and very popular.
I wouldn’t recommend Luz to anyone with mobility issues as it is quite hilly.

Nice relaxed vibe.
Nice relaxed vibe. The Club CVL is called Hotel Luz Bay, which is not clear on the listing so the taxi driver was confused. Try the Forteleza Da Luz Restaurant the new chef is fantastic and the food is fabulous. Everything is fresh and local. The house red is great, the staff and owner are charming and v welcoming. It’s also a stunning old fort ….what a stylish venue!
Wonderful character villa in one of the best locations in Luz. Beautiful mature gardens and well laid out buildings with an easy flow from all living areas to the outside spaces. Bedrooms and bathroom at the rear of the property keep a space between night owls and their offspring.
Sophie was helpful and communicated accurately, and Amelia kept the villa spotless without being instructive. Loved our time here.
The Searle family xx
It is a privately owned apartment in the hotel complex, hence the arrangement was finally done and controlled by Ben, the owner. This resulted in a flawless operation. We found the apartment in a perfect ,clean condition. It's location is away from the main action in Luz, but very close to the beach.
We didn't use the pool or hotel restaurant. No comment here.
Second time with Baia da Luz, and was just as good the second time. The apartment is spacious, comfortable and clean - perfect for a family of 4 - and has all the mod cons you could want, plus an espresso maker. It's only 5 minutes to the beach and boardwalk and is really great value for money.
A really beautiful place, with private parking, Great Buffet for breakfast and a really kind and helpful staff. The place is really close to Praia da Luz, and It really is beautiful and clean. There are a lot of restaurants around and is close to other beaches if you want to use your car.
immaculately clean & awesome apartments & facilities/amenities . staff very friendly & courteous . location was amazing & 4mins walk to beach/restaurants & short drive to supermarket & other beaches . bday fruit basket & food package was fantastic !
A lovely relaxing holiday, from the pool area you could see the well manicured gardens. If you need anything to eat or drink while sunbathing you could simply ring the hotel and the would bring it down to you. The breakfast was delicious.
Brilliant location right beside the swimming pool, but because it was on the top level, it was very private and quiet. Great space inside and out, air-conditioning and all of the facilities at Baia da Luz.
It’s a residence complex lost in the nature, far from the noise of the cities, close to a small and cozy village called Burgau, the breakfast is surprisingly good, one of the best we had in Portugal.
Loved this place - fully equipped apartment in country setting near Fisherman’s Trail. It’s 3.5 outside of Luz so plan to buy groceries en route or eat in the on-site restaurant.
Lovely quiet location, gardens beautifully looked after, super comfortable bed, clean spacious apartment, ample kitchen, 20 minute walk into luz, or 5minutes to bus stop.
The host, Hans and Ans were very hospitable and interested in our well-being. Room was like a standard hotel room, but villa, with all its amenities was gorgeous.
