Although a bit far away and long to get to by train, it is a nice hotel in a beautiful location. Just quick walk from the pool down to a fantastic beach below the hotel.
Although there is a restaurant at the hotel, it only serves meals to those who have it as part of their booking for you cannot order food there. So, you must go to the town about to kilometers away to get any food or convenience store.
Guests at Ibusuki Kaijo Hotel can enjoy indoor hot spring baths and a "Sunamushi" mud bath made from sand mixed with steam from hot-spring water.

I had a room with an ocean view, which was very nice. You could hear the sound of the waves, which was nice and relaxing. The main room was a large 12-mat tatami room and there was also a western-style couch with drink holders. A big closet with lots of hangers. There is a big bathhouse and a jacuzzi available to use, as well as sand-bathing for ¥1,200. There is a very good buffet breakfast in a room overlooking the ocean. Very good value for the money.
A 10-minute drive from JR Ibusuki Train Station, guests at Ibusuki Seaside Hotel can experience Sunamushi Sand hot-springs or bathe in the spacious public baths.

Super friendly staff who heroically interpreted our scruffy Japanese, open air bath is a must experience, comfy room, located right next to sand baths, walkable from train station
Yurian is located in Ibusuki, 6.2 mi from Ibusuki Onsen. There is a pool and hot springs bath on site. Pool and hot springs bath water are replaced 2 times a day.

I loved having extra towels and a thick bath robe to put on after getting out of the pool. We stayed in May and the night was a little cool.
Ibusuki is a wonderful location with great food, great...
Ibusuki is a wonderful location with great food, great beaches and even better people.
On first look it may look like it has had it’s high tide many years ago, there is so much potential and there are projects in place to rejuvenate and inspire. A new beach is being created to capitalise on the existing beautiful white beach a 10min walk from the station.
Also! World famous award-winning ramen just 200m from the station at Menya Jiro (New Yorkers may already know that name).
Enjoy the unique to Ibusuki volcanic sand bath and cross the street for a simple and tasty meal at Angel or grab some tasty treats at the store downstairs.
Sadly, the best beaches are private at overpriced and stuck-in-the-80s hotels so stay at Kokoro-no-Yado for a reasonably priced spa experience with a walk across a sandbar to the island of Chiranjima. Then hit the beach I mentioned earlier and bring a parasol or anything for shade and enjoy the sparkling water.
Visit Ibusuki, walk around and see what it was and can be. Support Ibusuki. I think you’ll agree it’s worth your time.

Not much to see here.
Not much to see here. On the one evening we wandered through the streets the city seemed deserted and empty. The only real attraction is the sand bath. But as stated on there website you are not allowed to use them when you are menstruating. Why that is I do not know. I feel it is very ignorant and intolerant. The warm sand could be very beneficial to people with period cramps. Menstruating is not dirty or unhygienic.

Just 1 hour away from Kagoshima by train (JR Line), Isubuki...
Just 1 hour away from Kagoshima by train (JR Line), Isubuki is definetly worth to visit and try the local sand spas (around 1.200 Yen per person). Allow 2h for the this world unique experience. Bring a towel!
At the station your find the only 7 Eleven in the village. Is like 20 min walking to the Sand Spa (no bus available)
Very comfortable place with an awesome host in a quiet area. A free bicycle made everything in Ibusuki close and the host gave me a ride when I needed one. The stay made me feel at home and would be spacious enough for a full house. I extended my stay 2 times and keep this place in mind as one of the most heartwarming. The interior, kitchen utensils and washing machine were also very useful. Thank you so much for having me :) I had a great time!
Everything. The staff were amazing and treated us like royalty. They provided free shuttle rides to the port when a taxi wasn’t found. They gave me a wake up call when I overslept and prepared special breakfast. the location is not in the town centre but a train station is very close and a shuttle is provided. The food and the spa where both out of this world. if I could give them 11 out of 10, I would have done so.
The owner is super nice and cool! I really like that guy! There are plenty of bathrooms and showers - all clean. The beds were pretty comfortable, and you can tell some forethought went into the construction of the beds. The location is great! Super close to Ibusuki Station, the one and only sand onsen, and a few great restaurants. It feels really safe and is a great value for what you get.
The room is a standard traditional tatami room with futon (as opposed to a western bed). There were 2 available onsens within the property - both indoors. I enjoyed the traditional Japanese breakfast (for an additional fee). The staff there was very kind and gave me a tour as well as recommendations for a quick dinner in the town.
Nice remote area of Japan worth exploring off the beaten tourist path.
Quiet , relaxing, beautiful view of bay.
Love the “onsen” - especially the outside bath sitting over cliff edge. Not talking about the pool. Which is very rudimentary- small wading pool only.
Staff is very nice and super helpful.
The hotel is located in a beautiful natural setting, on the seafront and with spectacular views. The hotel staff treated us very kindly and helped us with everything we needed. They even picked us up and took us to the station when we left. They made us feel at home! Highly recommended
Great location on foot from sand bath, onsen, restaurants, konbini. Nice and responsive host: clear instructions, restaurant recommendations and very kind. We were by car, there was parking reserved for one car. Recommend this place if you visit Ibusuki!
The place is amazing not too far from the train station and the amenities are awesome and relaxing and. couple / family friendly . We love the onsen and sauna rooms and the restaurant food especially the chicken inside the onsen building is a must try .
Pro - offer unique hot sand onsen until 9pm, must try. Room is clean, specious, if you select sea view, you get best sun rise view from the sea. Inclusive dinner and breakfast were nice. Public onsen is as good.
The onsen is lovely. Staff were nice and tried to be accommodating. After a 30minute wait at check in finally agreed to accept meal reservation I had emailed them with the night before
It is located in the isolated area. It is inconvenient for the people travelling with public transportation, however, the hotel provided the quality of healing time.
I loved the view of the ocean from the hotel room and from the onsen.
The beds were very comfortable, and the shuttle to the sand bath was very convenient.
The breakfast was quite varied, a good balance of all food groups.
Hotel was quiet. Nice balcony with a bay view, even through it was foggy one morning
