Located in Lagodekhi, 29 miles from Bodbe Monastery, Wald Hotel Lagodekhi Rooms has accommodations with a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge.

First of all, the location is truly amazing! Right at the entrance of the National Protected Area Park of Lagodekhi, in the middle of amazing nature, surrounded by the Caucasus mountains, forests, waterfalls, huge variety of flora and fauna. While walking in the protected area we were lucky enough to see a reindeer very close to us, even got a video of it! :) Next, we had a booking for a room that, as it appeared upon arrival, was in an older building (about 3-4 years old). We were given a free upgrade at the newest building that is only about a year old. The room was rather spacious, with a balcony overlooking the forest and mountains. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was functioning well, the fridge was very cold, there were also nice bath robes. The toiletry was on the mediocre side. The A/C was functioning well, perhaps even too much :) There is a really nice, big swimming pool. Must be at least 25 meters long, 2 meters deep at most, and rather wide. There is a bar at the pool, with not much of a variety of drinks to choose from, and somewhat overpriced. There is also a smaller swimming pool nearby (I'd say about 12 meters long). And in between there is a table tennis available. The music was playing all the time at the pool and I should say that the selection was really nice, and I'm quite a meloman myself :) We went for a dinner in the one and only available restaurant and were surprisingly satisified with the quality. We ordered traditional tomato and cucumber salad, which was very delicious (Lagodekhi is famous for both!), assorted Georgian cheese plate (Sulguni not very exciting, the Imeretian and Smoked ones were good!), assorted pickles (very tasty, especially pickled cucumber and jonjoli!) Imeretian khachapuri (which was absolutely outstanding!!!), French fries (I'd say - mediocre) and pork shashliks (very delicious, however, I personally prefer a bit more fatty pieces to my taste. We also ordered beer and water.

Winehouse, hotel in Lagodekhi

Winehouse in Lagodekhi provides accommodations with a garden, a bar, and a shared lounge. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking.

Comfortable room, amazing big meals with plenty of excellent home-made wine, possibility to wash laundry, clean tap water. Very warm and friendly hosts that helped us with everything: gave us a lift to a nearby national park for a dip in the river, and even came with us to the local hospital after an ankle injury on a hike. Great humor and good conversations! Highly recommended!

Lagodekhi has a beautiful national park/reserve, which is the main attraction there, with several routes to waterfalls and lakes (great place for hikers). The town itself is small but quite ok. The people are nice. There are several wine-cellars that one can visit to try local wines.

There's nothing to see in Lagodekhi itself other than the beautiful mountain backdrop. I'm told the long-distance hikes into the high mountains are as impressive as any in the Caucasus. The short walks to the waterfalls, which many travellers like myself seem to come for, are very pleasant rather than spectacular, but you should be aware that they are not effortless strolls. They involve some clambering up and down steep rocky slopes in places and some river crossings either on very fragile bridges (sometimes washed away) or through the icy rushing water itself.

We enjoyed nature and the more than a century old nature reserve as a highlight! You can make one or more days trekkings by walking or horse riding. At the reception of the park they are kind and helpful. You can rent tents and sleeping bags but also enjoy a one day trekking to a beautiful waterfall where you can swim!
