Bellochantuy Beach, hotel in Bellochantuy

Bellochantuy Beach enjoys a location in Bellochantuy, 9.4 miles from Mitchell's Glengyle distillery and 10 miles from Springbank Whisky Distillery.

We stayed in Ocean Vista on the site with two dogs. The caravan is a stones throw from the beach, so perfect for walking our dogs. Bellochantuy Beach is only a small caravan site so it is quiet. Perfect place to unwind. There is a hotel a minute or 2's short walk away with a bar and restaurant. Must pre book for meals. The caravan has 2 bathrooms which was great. Amazing shower. The caravan was clean, uncluttered, well equipped and comfortable. We have stayed at the site in different caravans a few times and always been happy. Good location for exploring Kintyre. The main town with all facilities is about 15 minutes drive away. Other small village stores are 5-10 minutes drive away. There are no footpaths on large sections of the main road..

Ashbank Hotel, hotel in Bellochantuy

Located in the picturesque fishing village of Carradale, on the East Coast of the Kintyre Peninsula, this welcoming family-run hotel features spectacular views across the Kilbrannan Sound to Arran and...

The view from the window was impressive. The hotel is also a bar. Patrons gather in the living room and are wonderful people. Everyone is very helpful. The breakfast is more than ample to get your day off to a good start. Also lots of options. The town is small with lots of character. It’s about a 30 minute drive into Campbelltown. And there are a lot of attractions within a 30 minute drive. Multiple dinning options within a mile. All excellent food/service.

The Royal Hotel Campbeltown, hotel in Bellochantuy

Boasting a beautiful location next to the harbor, with rolling hills in the distance, this hotel is 5 miles from Machrihanish in the heart of Campbeltown.

We were arriving a bit late. The lady working the desk called to make sure we were getting along alright and then inquired if we had anything to eat. She said the restaurant was closing right about when we planned to arrive. I told her not to worry about it and we went on ahead. Once we arrived she said she kept the restaurant open for us so we could have a meal. This is exceptional customer service and we are very grateful.

Gowanlea Heights, hotel in Bellochantuy

Offering free WiFi and free private parking, Gowanlea Heights is located in Campbeltown, just 900 yards from Mitchell's Glengyle distillery.

John was exceptionally attentive and helpful when I had a bronchitis and was considering seeking medical care. That was before I ever reached his property. My daughter and I were offered two rooms, both spacious, and well appointed there were a variety of snacks, yogurts, and drinks available in each room. The sitting room is lovely and filled with good reads.

We loved the easy access to our room with 3 dogs and a massive walk in shower gave us that extra space. We loved the clean towels and also how special you made it for our dogs, extra doggie towels and blankets and chewies for all 3 :))) We loved tea and coffee, chocs and biscuits and shampoos etc We loved the restaurant options and easy access for the dogs plus being able to sit outside and enjoy beachfront views or inside sea views - awesome!! Extra special to take the dogs out for beach walks although sad about one of the Canadian geese, and too many dead seagulls on the shore but overall beautiful seaside adventure. We travelled down as far as Saddler and got to tour with best mate Jane. Enjoy the peace, quiet, clean natural lifestyle while you can and it becomes another tourist overcrowded beach.

Bellochantuy is a really small village, you almost have to have a car if you want to venture around. It is conveniently placed to explore the Kintyre peninsula, but not for someone who is looking for pubs and exploring different restaurants every night.

Hotel is beautiful and the hosts are extremely friendly. It is a perfect location to explore the Kintyre peninsula, but it is slightly on the isolated side (so not if you want to go on a pub crawl). Room was extremely spacious, so was the bathroom and conveniently located close to the entrance, which made it easier to get out quickly with dogs. Hotel has a beautiful terrace that overlooks a beach (which is perfect for cold swims). We did not try the breakfast but dinner was really good, so we would definitely recommend the restaurant.

Small intimate hotel extremely well refurbished.Location backs onto a long sandy beach.Views from our room we're superb. The extension built onto the back of the hotel is the restaurant and every table has fantastic views of the Atlantic, Islay, Jura and Gigha.Sunsets were amazing. The menu and quality of the food on offer was terrific and at a very reasonable price. 😋. Will plan to revisit later this year. Hugh McDonald

The Argyll Hotel is located right beside the beach and has stunning views from the conservatory restaurant/patio. Ian and Nick and their staff are warm welcoming but still professional. Really enjoyed dinner and my full cooked breakfast. I’ve never had a savoury crème brûlée before but LOVED the blue cheese crème brûlée starter. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay….just wish I could have stayed longer but will definately return.

Our stay here was fantastic! We had a spotlessly clean room overlooking the beach and the sea and it was close to golf at Machrihanish Golf Club, where we were playing. Ian and Nick were amazing hosts and had a wonderful restaurant and bar with delicious food and drinks. They went out if their way to feed us later in the evening after our golf round and treated us like we were one of the family. We highly recommend.

Location was very good, peaceful and relaxing. Manager and staff are very welcoming. Relaxing on the rear terrace overlooking the beach and sea on a warm evening watching the sun go down is great. Food is very good. Never slept in such a wide double bed. Would we stay again....yes.

Beach front location. Argyll Hotel right beside the small caravan site. The hotel has a bar and does amazing food. The beach is very quiet and clean golden sands. Roads are quiet and the Kintyre Peninsula is feels very secluded and not touristy. Dog friendly caravan and hotel.

If you are lucky enough to get a room with a sea view it is worth paying the extra. This plus the view from the Dining Room make it a very special hotel. An excellent base to visit the Mull of Kintyre.
