The communication from the Roseleigh prior to our stay was exceptional and kept us fully informed including during the afternoon of our arrival to let us know our room was available early. Gerard was very knowledgeable about the local area and was able to update us on the history of the spa and its buildings. Our room overlooked the pavilion gardens and was very comfortable and well equipped. The breakfast menu at the Roseleigh was excellent with a wide range of options available. The staff we met were all friendly and helpful and all in all we had a very pleasant stay. Highly recommended.

We met up with friends and had some things planned and other things decided on the first night. There was lots to do in Buxton and in the area around Buxton. I felt we could have stayed for a week and found things to do each day and night. I was very impressed with the attractions that were open for us to go to and there was a lot of choice to eat in different Restaurants. There was a lack of Taxis, we tried phoning and got no where so had to walk back to the Hotel.

The most interesting small city and worth a visit, relies on good weather and make use of the spa. Check the tourist places and consider the beautiful theatre and pavilion. I recommend the Old Court house Brasserie for dinner.

I saw most of Buxton but with a car there is so much more to see and do in the area. Had a night at the opera; visited Chatsworth and Hardwick (which has amazing tapestries and history but is further away and would not recommend if only staying for a few days); Eyam and its museum; a guided walk around Buxton; Participated in Park Run 15 mins walk from Grendon B&B; Less busy and crowded than Bakewell although definitely would recommend a visit there; Gardens lovely to wander around; Countryside amazing and beautiful to walk in.

A lovely place to stay, full of interesting buildings and great Pubs/Restaurants. The open air market was very disappointing but everything else was excellent.
The views as you get nearer to the town are breathtaking, we will definitely visit again
The house is beautifully furnished with a lot of thought, with modern and clean kitchen and bathroom fitting together with a more classic living room and bedrooms. TV in every bedroom and the living room, free Netflix and BBC iPlayer too so we did not need our own accounts. The beds are comfortable with crisp hotel bedsheets. We drove there so the more remote location is not a problem at all, it is in fact perfect for going out of Buxton to explore other parts of Peak District. Really felt like having a home away from home.
We had read mixed reviews of this hotel but decided to stay anyway . We were pleasantly surprised . The location was fantastic , close to all amenities and some amazing local restaurants ( Thai is lovely ) , Staff were outstanding, especially at breakfast. Beautiful room overlooking park with large bath, plenty of hot water and lovely hot shower .
If you want a soul less chain of hotels , don't stay here . Lovely , quirky old building . Would definitely stay here and visit Buxton again
The location for visiting Buxton was superb, the town centre was walking distance and the bungalow was a great price for being dog friendly and self contained. We had a fantastic few days there, lovely food at The Old Sun Inn and Leubens and 20mins away from Mam Tor/ Castleton.
Bungalow also comes with parking spot & host Clare is easily contactable and replies quickly to messages.
We'll definitely be staying again if visiting Buxton or surrounding area!
As someone who travels constantly this is by far one of the best places I have stayed, just stunning, they were over booked so I was given there cottage in town of Buxton, please do not hesitate to book botu cottage,it's central to everything and is so secluded and a perfect getaway, very high speck, a home away from home. Will book again in the future, can't wait to visit again.can not score it high enough.
Good location within walking distance of the main town centre and restaurants in a nice quiet area. The hotel has been painstakingly and beautifully restored. Rooms were large, comfortable and again immaculate with lots of nice thoughtful touches- big fluffy towels complimentary slippers, water and fruit. Also terrific breakfasts. Will definitely be our goto place to stay when we go back to Buxton
Quiet location overlooking beautiful park but within easy walking distance of town centre, eateries etc., .
We booked Room 4 which was a spacious area with a double and a single bed. Well worth the little extra.
Good range of traditional breakfast alternatives provided.
Car parking on site an added bonus.
Excellent value.
Like the Hotel, Buxton also exceeded our expectations.
The hotel is positioned perfectly for a visit to Buxton opera House bars and restaurants in the town centre. It’s a very impressive building of national importance and has been restored to its former glory the rooms are beautiful and the beds very comfortable. The spar area is second to non unique in every way.
This was a great stay for our week in the Peak District. Staying in Buxton meant everything was just about 30 mins away. Having an apartment rather than a hotel stay was also much preferred. This was a great experience, thanks for providing such high quality!
This is place is excellent. Contact from the host was excellent and they could not be more helpful and kind. Room was lovely with everything you need. Bed was very comfortable. Nice to have a space to sit outside too
Great location to visit Buxton
The price was very reasonable. It is located very near Buxton Crescent, where I was meeting a friend. Kitchen is nicely outfitted (glassware, dishes, cookware, etc). Also liked the large bathroom with clawfoot tub and separate walk-in shower.
We had read bad reviews and same type of hotels can be a bit shabby but we were very impressed with everything and we would love to come back.
Were even told that when we have one we can bring a dog.
How close it was to Buxton Opera House where we were going. Breakfast really good and enough and room big enough although the mattress was just a little to hard than we have at home. Would stay again.
Excellent location near all the Buxton attractions. Good size room, comfy bed, very clean and lovely polite staff. Gerard was a great host. Lovely to walk through the park facing the hotel.
Location excellent, didn't eat breakfast. Room and ensuite fine, staff friendly and helpful. Will book the same hotel whenever staying in Buxton in the future.
