All in all it was the most pleasant and perfect stay and experience to us.We felt there was no bad bits about the place, but is was tastefully decorated and restored environment, going respectfully with the historical era of the building. Delicious food, well thought out everything about customers stay. Many thanks and warm recommendations.

Moffat is a lovely small town in the border region. Lots of places to eat and drink and interesting independent shops. The people of Moffat are amongst the most welcoming and friendly I have ever met.

Moffat originally a spa town in the Scottish Borders is a busy thriving place to visit. It has some lovely eating places and if you like the outdoors, there are a range of lovely walks to go on that are right on your doorstep.

Moffat is a lovely little town with many quirky shops and quite a few short local walks for the adventurers also there are longer walks for the more adventurist especially a 10 mile drive to the The Grey Mares Tail is well worth a visit but the road to it is very narrow in places

All the good things that other reviewers have said are true - this is a superb hotel. I don't want to just repeat what others have said but in summary - high standard of cleanliness, beautiful accommodation and outside space, delicious food, etc - but I'd like to focus on the staff.
We've stayed in hotels all over the world from the Hotel Jellyfish in Nepal ($1 a night) to the Waldorf Astoria in New York and I think what elevates a good hotel into a great hotel is the quality of the staff. At Moffat House the staff are exceptional. Every staff member we've met has been friendly and helpful. Even our dog has been fussed over by the staff. It all felt very welcoming.
We had a very pleasant, relaxing time time here and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Moffat House Hotel.

We ate in at 2 places.
We ate in at 2 places. Have to say food was basic at The Star hotel but staff were lovely.
Mutchies Munchies had breakfast here would not go back! Sausage s just about cooked but wasn’t going to risk them. Just all very bland and basic.
Couple of nice gift shops.
Moffat ok as a stop off on a long journey, wouldn’t make a special trip.
Really first class accommodation with a high end finish. Lots of little extras included to give a really special feel. Good selection of quality cooked food and well kept ales. Great location in the High Street with easy access to the town. Friendly owners and staff. A lovely place to stay, close to the motorway for a stopover or to explore the area. We have stayed at most of the hotels in Moffat over the years and this is as nice as it comes.
Only a short walk from the centre of Moffat and a mile from the A74(M), the cottage was spotlessly clean, comfortable and had a well-stocked fridge. A delicious, hot breakfast was brought to the cottage by Maureen who couldn't have done more to make the stay memorable. On our tours to Scotland we always start and end up in Moffat and will now hope that Groom's Cottage is available when we plan our next one.
Buchan Guest House was just as we remembered it from the late 1980's when we last stayed there - nostalgic!
It's in a super location with parking out the front and at the rear.
Moffat is a great location for exploring the lowlands of Scotland and stopping off on the way North or South on the A74(M).
We were made very welcome and had a very good room.
We would come back again.
The breakfast was superb. With a choice of fruit or cereal to start with and yoghurt. Followed by a full cooked plate. Very tasty sausages. Toast with locally produced jam and good coffee. Really friendly and welcoming. Good stop off for travelling to and from Scotland. Moffat hills to be explored along with an interesting town centre.
When you are travelling to northern Scotland with two dogs finding somewhere good to stay to break the journey is tough. The answer is The Buccleuth in Moffat. Friendly staff, spotless room and a lovely breakfast less than a mile from the M74 and in a pleasant town. It will certainly be our regular stop on the road north from now on.
The property was very homely and the hosts were lovely.
We had breakfast at the property each morning and the home cooking was delicious.
The room itself was very spacious and the bathroom was massive!
The hosts were incredibly welcoming and informative about the area.
I would definitely recommend this B&B to a friend!
Beautifully cooked and served traditional Scottish breakfast. The location was good, being on a quiet road with country views, and accessible for the town. As seniors it was a little too far for us to walk into Moffat , but no problem for younger legs. We received a warm welcome and the hospitality was friendly.
We stayed the second time at Kirkview House and enjoyed it again very much. John is a wonderful host with a wide knowledge. We learnt a lot about Scotland and the spa-town of Moffat. The breakfast was delicous. The room itself is spacious and comfortable as is the bathroom. We can only recommend Kirkview House.
Stayed at this hotel lots over the years for family celebration. The change in the hotel is fantastic and the new design &. Luxurious finish is amazing. We stayed in room 5 and had the best sleep ever .room is amazing . Breakfast was excellent. All round I’d give it 5 stars .
A great place to stay in a good location in Moffat. Quiet and away from traffic made it very relaxing and the evening meal in the restaurant was superb. We’ll definitely stay again when travelling up to Scotland.
Moffat is well located for easy access to all the natural beauty of the fabulous Scottish Borders.
All the staff were very helpful. Motorcycle garages and maintenance facilities are a great touch.

Very clean and spacious room. Perfect for a family group. Fabulous evening meal in the hotel restaurant. Hosts were very helpful and welcoming. couldn’t be better!
Beautiful building and surrounding area. Comfortable room with lovely views. Breakfast was high quality. Great location just minutes walk into Moffat high street.
Food (breakfast & dinner) was excellent. Loved the little “extras” in the room and staff were brilliant. Would definitely look to stay again if in the area.
