Famous for its association with Robin Hood, Nottingham is in the very heart of England. The outlaw’s legend lives on, with many city streets and buildings named after him and his Merry Men. A Robin Hood statue sits at the foot of Nottingham Castle, on a small hill with historic pubs built into it. Also cut into the rock are visitable caves extending under the city.
The Old Market Square is the largest in the UK and becomes a city beach in the summer, with rides and a small pool. Permanent fixtures are the impressive Council House with its Exchange Arcade shops, and the several Nottingham hotels with parking in the surrounding area.
During the 19th century, Nottingham was an important lace-making center and many Victorian warehouses and buildings remain in the Lace Market area. Neighboring Hockley is home to the National Ice Center and independent shops, while the biggest shopping centers are Broadmarsh and the Victoria Center.
In the western suburbs, by Nottingham University, Wollaton Park surrounds an Elizabethan stately home, while east of Trent Bridge cricket ground is the National Water Sports Center in Holme Pierrepont. Sherwood Forest, Robin’s stomping ground, is near Mansfield, while East Midlands Airport is southwest of Long Eaton.

Visiting Nottingham is a way to dive into real Middle England. It has a lot to feel a history, traditions, and people of England. Beautiful nature, and surrounding villages, informative and attractive museums (Museum of Justice and the Castle first of all), great Universities, full of students from all over the world, nice pubs with local beers and ales. All these create an unforgettable atmosphere of old England.

We went to rock city- affordable and great venue,
We did pit and pendulum, great gothic bar - prices mad reasonable compared to South. Proper cocktails.
Alchemist- great experience.
Loads of good shops,
Museum of curiosities,
Feel like the city is built on an underground history, so many basements and creepy places underground. Really good, and cheap compared to london/kent. Friendly people, users everywhere.

If you like big crowds( (on only a Thursday night!), and (for driving) very unhelpful road signing for getting to A60 North when exiting area around hotel, then Nottingham is fine. Obviously these "features" were not to our taste - nor is (apart from the 1930s Newton Building of the Trent University) the city centre "architecture"!
However, we will return, and no doubt use same hotel, when there is another potentially outstanding classical music concert at the Royal Hall,. Such was the object of our visit.
No hotel is perfect, and yours, despite our criticisms, provided a generally very reasonable/reasonably priced overnight stay, with its own covered and secure car park, and the great advantage of being so near to the Hall (and Playhouse)

There is a very good buffet restaurant on Upper Parliament Road offering tasty food. Nice tram service. Great bus network the city centre is very lively all day and night. The victoria shopping centre is a fine place to go to keep warm and dry when it's cold and wet outside.
The areas outside the city centre are dull and look very run down..most of the houses snd flats need a good coat of paint on the outside to brighten up the area. There is a terrible lack of palm trees in Nottingham. Nottingham needs hundreds of big palm trees.

We were going to a family party which also enabled us to meet up with the other side of the family so was good. Nottingham is a nice city with a welcoming feeling. We really only visit because we have family there I’m not sure we would visit if not.
The property was absolutely spotless! The bedroom was a decent enough size, I didn’t use the kitchen but it was massive. Although there were other people staying in the property, you didn’t really notice due to the size. Loved the private bathroom and the house was close enough to the centre to get an Uber which arrived to us within a few minutes. The host appears to live in the property and he was very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend this stay as a cheap alternative to saying in a hotel in the city centre.
Beautiful large suite in beautiful hotel. Period features are gorgeous. Had a lovely relaxing stay. Large comfortable bed in quiet, dark room so a very good night's sleep. Nice to have little extras like different teas, biscuits, hot chocolate sachets etc in room as well as a bottle of water. Staff attentive and friendly. Location great, very handy for park & ride into Nottingham city centre with frequent bus service. Definitely like to return!
I like the parking facilities, very useful in the city centre and secure. Always easy to check in here, Philip checked me in this time and was most helpful, this is my second visit with a third visit scheduled at Christmas. I like a quiet room soI upgraded to a higher floor, the room was spot on, well presented.
Comfortable and cheap and perfectly placed for my trip to the Nottingham wildcats arena for two days of basketball training with the GB O50 team.
Great to get out and go for a walk along the water. Very peaceful and great for wellbeing.
I stayed on a weekend that was very quiet which I liked as well
In town centre - 1 minute walk to theatre royal and corner house and 2 minutes to the city centre. Tram stop 1 minute away. Car parks close by. Hotel run a deal on the car park on talbot street which is a 2 minute walk away. Great nights sleep, quiet and comfy beds. Iron in room too which was handy.
location was great considering the value for money, only a 10 minute walk into the city centre. the whole system of a code to get into the building and rooms is really efficient. i would definitely stay there again if i were to be back in nottingham.
Very comfortable and friendly small hotel on the outskirts of Nottingham. Room was quiet despite facing onto the main street. We found we could check in early which suited us as we were helping our son my house. Excellent value.
We used this hotel as our go to place for the past 5 years. Its a reasonable price and a very short walk to everything you need weather it's the Motorpoint arena or the city centre. Car parking at a charge is right opposite.
Well presented apartment in the city centre - pictures matched the property.
Comfy and clean, had everything that you needed, during the stay they checked in to make sure everything was ok
We’ve stayed at a few Village Hotels and know what we’re getting - swimming pool for kids, etc. This one is handy for M1 and handy for Nottingham city centre by car / train / tram.
It was spacious, well-equipped and close to city centre. Heating was good and easy to use. I liked the fact that the bedroom was separated from the living area. Nicely decorated.
Have used before nice clean hotel ideal for our purposes (Nottingham Trent uni graduation) it does what it says and is good value. Short hop by taxi or bus to the city centre.
The hotel is well situated being in the centre of Nottingham and close to the railway station.
The rooms are quirky and comfortable. The staff very friendly and helpful.
Lovely hotel, friendly staff. Very well situated in the city centre. Really nice pool and hot tub, with towels provided. Nice bar area, and a fantastic choice at breakfast
The location is really good, being in the middle of the center of Nottingham but, for me, that was kind of the only one out of a few qualities of my stay at the hotel.
