Great port town with a large estuary/lagoon harbour and wonderful beaches on the amazingly long coastal Curonian Spit and Curonian Lagoon – Klaipėda is at the northern tip. There's plenty of interesting history and architecture in the center, and short ferry rides across the channel to the forested Curonian Spit for beaches, long walks, cycle rides or tramping, as well as the same (without the Spit) north of Klaipėda. Palanga, just 30 - 40 minutes north is also interesting, with forest belt and beaches along the coast and a spa facility nearby (be prepared for large crowds during the summer holidays). Plenty of shopping malls and beautiful parks in Klaipėda too, and the council is adding more improvements/facilities constantly.

Best time to visit is during summer and early autumn while temperatures are warmer. Cash and visa/mastercards are accepted widely. Bring any kind of jacket and umbrella because it's coastal city.

Klaipeda is nice beautiful town that has a very interesting combination of architectural styles in it: at one point, you see an old building of around 19th century and then you turn around and see a port with huge modern constructions. Air there is fantastic: you literally brief the sea. The greatest part was that it took less than an hour to get to the Courish spit whose sea side and sand dunes cannot leave you unimpressed!

Klaipeda is a wonderful port, beach, resort and vacation city. Here you can find entertainment for every taste - bars, coffee houses, parks, beaches, promenades, sculptures and interesting architecture with a German taste. You can go to the Curonian Spit, where you can get lost on the endless beach, visit interesting museums, walk through the forests, have a barbecue, and also appreciate the beauty of the sand dunes by going on a trip along the winding eco-trails. It remains only to follow the vagaries of the weather and not to lose the excellent mood.

OK, so the list of options to select is too limiting when it comes to visiting Klaipeda region and the possibilities of what to do.
I first visited Klaipeda in 2005 and I have to say as someone who loves travel, nature, restaurants, wine and cocktail bars, café culture, art. Klaipeda Has come so so far.
There is something to do for everyone. I used to cycle a lot; there are kilometers of cycle and hiking routes through some fantastic bio-diverse forests.
I once saw thousands of swans on the Curonian water channel.
Beautiful sandy beaches that stretch for kilometers.
A wonderful outdoor, free, sculpture park that you could spend the afternoon in, surrounded by trees, in the middle of the city.
So much to do here. Love it.

A beautiful port city with its own face.
A beautiful port city with its own face. Impressive old town and preserved heritage. Modern maritime museum and dolphinarium. Interesting Klaipėda city museum. It's nice to take a walk along the river bank in the evening.
Place is located at city centre and it were easy to reach all areas I was planning to see/visit. Apartment was extremely clean and tidy. It was lovely to find coffee, all kitchen supplies and even laundry cleaning supplies. It for sure surprised me allot.
For the owners keep it up with an excellent work.
As I spend only few days in Lithuania during the year, for sure will come back next year may at summer time to stay at this area for a longer time. And definitely will recommend it to my fellow travelers as well.
Was a great location, on the edge of the Old Town, making access to many sights convenient. A nice atmosphere. A small room/unit with spacious bathroom. Small but quite acceptable kitchen (no microwave). Seating lounge, Wi-Fi, all good, and natural light from the windows. Restaurants (Etno Dvaras) near by for Lithuanian food, Iki supermarket down the road, the castle museum across the road, and social history museum two streets back. Helpful hosts although never saw them.
This is a part old hotel from the Soviet days and part new-built European standard, but with quite an interesting architecture for both parts. The atmosphere is calm and laid-back, I got a room with a view of the calm square behind the hotel and I slept very good. The wi-fi network was also very good. I guess in the old days this hotel was the place to be in Klaipeda and, well, it still is!
I was very positively surprised by the room setup and comfort level. The bed was super nice. The interior was nice, no signs of wear and tear. Shower was good. I found that a kettle was provided in the small cabinet under the desk. I really appreciated that the room service visited my room to make the bed - not all hotels do that in Lithuania.
The lobby is super nice with a real fireplace.
This is an excellent place to stay in Klaipeda city centre, close to the river and old town. The property is modern and the decor in the rooms and common areas is very well put together. The service and quality of food and drinks at The Corner pub and the Skybar were some of the best we had in our stay in Lithuania. The breakfast selection was excellent.
We enjoyed this cozy hotel. Our room was huge, although most of the space was unused. Free parking was convenient, but the hotel is also located on walking distance from the railway station. Distance to the city center or ferry's is easily done by foot. We had breakfast and did not regret it! Great for exploring Klaipeda and region.
Without doubt the most perfect place I’ve stayed in Lithuania. The owner has an impeccable sense of interior decor and it was super cozy. And with 30+ c temps in Klaipeda, the air conditioning system was a real savior (and surprisingly quiet). Awesome place, awesome find!!! I’ll be back!!
Promenada was a very nice hotel in a pleasant residential area about 1 km from the center. The staff was very welcoming. My room was spacious and clean with a view over the trees. Facilities / amenities were excellent. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. A very good value.
The best part of this hotel was the staff, especially very friendly receptionist.
Breakfast was especially delicious.
Rooms cozy and had everything you needed.
Location is very good also, you are in the middle of Klaipeda's Old town, near river Danė.
the lady on the reception was particularly kind and helped me a lot in finding the hotel and its parking. Truly a very nice person. Next time I'm in Klaipeda, I will stay at this hotel again, knowing I will find this wonderful woman again
Location is perfect, just few minutes to the old town of Klaipeda. Hotel exceeded our expectations, very cozy, room was well equiped. Staff - very pleasant and helpfull. Breakfast - everything perfect, enough hot meals and salads.
Spacious and clean room, all facilities needed for a stay, nice staff, good location, many options to choose from for the breakfast, free parking next to hotel. In general a great place to stay in Klaipėda for a reasonable price.
Beautiful historical building right in the heart of Old Town. Quite authentic style inside as well. Excellent breakfast, great staff, probably best four-star hotel in Klaipeda for the money you pay. Very recommended!
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Room was clean and comfortable.
Location was great for us as we visited Lithuanian Sea Museum and Dolphinarium and Hotel is situated very close to Old Ferry Terminal.
Clean hotel, mostly comfortable rooms, excellent location, friendly and courteous staff and a good breakfast. Well worth the stay and it was a highlight of my time in Lithuania.
