The property was close to the beach and pristinely kept. The staff was proactive and kind. The rooms were comfortable as were the beds and linens. The breakfast was amazing and the rooftop furnishings and view were gorgeous!

Breakfast room opened a bit late for me as I wanted to get on the road as quickly as possible. Once breakfast was opened it was very nice. It had everything and they even gave me a coffee to go. Nice of them.

There was an adults -only area with dipping pool and sun loungers on the 4th floor of the hotel ALTAFULLA MAR with smashing views of the surrounding countryside. Nice touch.!
The hotel is obviously a big draw for business conferences and seemed ideally suited for this TOO ; the conferences were held outside which meant if you'd wanted to use the outdoor pool you couldn't ? In high season they'd go indoors?
HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL AND CHARMING VILLAGE FOR A SHORT STOP OFF IF YOU VISIT THE COSTA DAURADA - learn some Catalan and eat local special dishes to embrace the experience.

Lovely town with some historical places to see.
Lovely town with some historical places to see. Great to just wander around and discover it for yourself. The main areas to eat and drink are within the old town and they are all very individual, with their own character. Friendly staff. There are also a few on the beach. The surrounding area is definitely worth exploring, particularly for the coastal walking routes.

It has a really beautiful but fairly small old town with a castle and great restaurants and bars. The beach is a short distance away and is long and sandy with nice bars and restaurants close by. Although there are 2 very modern hotels just set back from the beach, the village doesn't feel overdeveloped. You can take the train to Tarragona, Sitges or even Barcelona to vary your trip.

I had thought, from looking at photos, that the old town of Altafulla was directly above the beach. This isn't the case; it's about a fifteen-minute walk. Which is absolutely fine, but it's a different esthetic than I expected. I liked the easy access by train from Barcelona, and the fact that it's a small, walkable town that, while seemingly mostly about tourism, doesn't feel overdeveloped. It's a bit dead in the off-season, when we visited; but 'nice and quiet' is another way to frame it. The local people were extremely friendly and welcoming. We hope to visit again when the weather is warmer.

Altafulla is the perfect getaway for anyone who doesn't what the typical tourist buzz. The old town is charming with great eateries. The more modern side of the town has great places too and the beach is lovely. The locals are very friendly and it's very relaxing. The train means you can easily go exploring if you don't have a car and you can get to Barcelona in an hour or Seville in 2. Having been four times now, it's definitely one of our favourites for a relaxing getaway.

We spent 3 days on Platja d'Altafulla, without desire to walk far away from there. The place is the couterpoint after the crowdness of Barcelona, with peaceful and intimate free beaches, We liked its atmosphere very much. Moreover, Platja d'Altafulla is a blue flag beach!
This is a stately old mansion overlooking the Mediterranean Sea decorated with beautiful antiques. The gated property had private parking a pretty pool and lounge areas. We were treated to à homemade breakfast cooked to order. The host, Marcia was friendly and helpful with all of our questions. We were able to leave our car and walk to the beach and visit the old town. We were sorry we weren’t staying longer.
Fabulous hotel. Impeccably clean, lovely people. Rooms have everything. And the little touches were everywhere. Complementary cava and water in fridge, free welcome drink, hand made chocolates - even weather forecast cards from the service team. And what a location! 50m from the beach and a view to die for from the rooftop infinity pool. I've booked two more visits already. Loved it - well done team!!
We chose the villa because we wanted walking distance from the train station, which it is.
A lovely location on the edge of the old town close to more tradition bars and restaurants (there's a great bodega nearby) but only 15 mins down to the lovely beachfront at Altafulla
The villa has a fabulous pool and provides an excellent breakfast. The larger bedroom with sea view is worth the extra cost.
What a beautiful property in an amazing location overlooking Altafulla promenade and beach, and with views beyond to Tamarit castle. Beds and sofas very comfortable and apartment nicely decorated.. very modern and fresh. The deck was lovely to sit out on, so sheltered and private. Plenty of good seating and tables. Owner Gustavo was very helpful and always available if needed.
Such a beautiful hotel, with fabulous staff and well thought through amenities. One of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had in a hotel, full range of traditional breakfast foods and a lot of items you wouldn’t normally find. We were able to stay for a later check out and take advantage of the bar downstairs that served exceptional food. We parked for free on a nearby street.
The hotel was amazing! I loved it, the room was super big, the bed very comfortable and also all the rest of the facilities were great! The pool with the ocean view and the breakfast was great! Great experience and pleased to stay here. The location was only 1 block away from the sea and only a few blocks from the train station.
The hotel is located in a lovely old stone building in the very picturesque old town. It is luxuriously fitted out. The staff were very nice and helpful. This was our second visit and the town has some great restaurants and bars.
The hotel has a restaurant which we appreciated, the food and service were excellent. Parking was free which for Spain is a plus. We were so impressed we are staying two nights on our return journey through northern Spain.
Fantastic historic house, beautifully decorated, very comfortable with all modern conveniences. Excellent location in the beautiful old town of Altafulla.
