Pozo de los Frailes is the best place to stay in Cabo de Gata natural park. It's in the middle of everything, so you can easily access the beaches of San José, Monsul, Genoveses, but also Rodalquilar or Las Negras. The village still keeps its local and authentic feel, without being touristy and loud and has great views of the surrounding areas. There is at least one shop and 3 or 4 restaurants. Only tried El Tragaluz and ended coming back again, because it was a great experience. The people are incredibly nice and the reduced size and relaxing vibe of the village make you feel like you really are in the middle of nature and never want to leave.

This was mainly a base to explore areas locally but from what we found it was a lovely little place. It has a few shops and bars which all had friendly staff. We particularly liked Bar trezsur. Lovely staff with a quant hippy feel. We stayed for breakfast and couldn't fault it. Breakfast was lovely.melanieUnited Kingdom
