One of Poland’s oldest cities and a birthplace of the Polish nation, Poznan is the capital city of the Greater Poland (Wielkopolska) region. Famous for international trade fairs, high quality shopping and popular festivals, this city is on the rise!
Its colorful medieval Old Town flourishes with dozens of bars, cafés and pubs open until the early hours of the morning. During warm days, you can sit in one of the pretty beer gardens and admire the architecture and the world going by.
For something different, check out Europe’s only steam-hauled passenger train and ride to Greater Poland National Park. Alternatively, visit the reconstructed brewery and shop, as the Old Brewery is now one of the world’s best shopping malls.
Poznan lies halfway between Berlin and Warsaw, perfectly combining the old and the new, from Ostrow Tumski with its beautiful St. Peter’s and Paul’s Cathedral, to the glass and steel of Poznan International Fair and the city's skyscrapers.
Booking.com has a wide range of accommodations in Poznan to fit all your needs, from convenient hotels, to stylish apartments and budget hostels. So whenever you happen to arrive at Poznan Lawica Airport, you’re only minutes away from exploring this fascinating city.

We stayed in the main square and it has recently undergone major renovation which means it is really very nice and looked and felt, at times, like being on a film set! Easy to get round the city and we used public transport to visit neighbouring cities and taxis to access slightly further away sites eg cathedral area. Lots of places to eat and not an expensive city - at the moment! Only visited one of the big shopping malls but it was easy to find and lots of good shops , much better than average UK cities! Some of the tourist areas lacked explanations in English but this is evolving.

I went in feb, and although it was beautiful - there were upgrade works going on. Pictures of the square aren’t the same with white vans and diggers in haha.
I would recommend going in spring or summer.

Poznan, a city where history and modernity intertwine...
Poznan, a city where history and modernity intertwine seamlessly, is an undiscovered gem in the heart of Europe. The Old Town, with its meticulously restored buildings and vibrant market square, is a picturesque start to any city trip. As you wander through its cobbled streets, you're transported back in time, yet the city's dynamic energy is unmistakably contemporary.
For food enthusiasts, Poznan’s sushi scene is surprisingly sophisticated, offering an array of fresh, creative options that can easily rival coastal cities. Nature lovers will find solace in the city's green spaces, perfect for leisurely walks or peaceful contemplation, providing a serene escape from the urban buzz.
Walking through Poznan is an experience in itself, with every turn revealing a blend of architectural marvels and quaint, hidden nooks. The city's pubs and cafes offer a warm, inviting atmosphere, ideal for both lively nights out and relaxed afternoons. Each pub has its unique character, reflecting Poznan's rich cultural tapestry.
Finally, the city is a treasure trove for sightseeing. From historical landmarks to contemporary art installations, Poznan caters to a wide range of interests, making it a versatile destination for travelers.
In summary, Poznan is a city that truly has it all – history, nature, gastronomy, and vibrant city life. Whether you're on a brief city trip or a longer exploration, Poznan promises an unforgettable experience filled with discovery and delight.

There is plenty of history to enjoy.
There is plenty of history to enjoy. The old town (Stare Miasto) and market (Rynek) are lovely - sadly, they are carrying out massive works all round this key area. You have to visit the Town Hall (Ratusz) for the head-butting goats. The Cathedral (on its own island in the river) is spectacular. The area around the university is really worth exploring. There are some super restaurants, cafes and pubs. Public transport is very efficient - check the Tourist Office for ticketing information. There is at least one excellent app which allows instantaneous access to travel options i.e. walk, autobus or tram. If you want shopping and a range of eateries, there is a massive mall in what used to be the old brewery - Stary Browar.

Poznan is a beautiful old city, with lots of lovely things to look at, and some great activities. The only negative is the ongoing building work that is everywhere. I would definitely come back, but would make sure the building work had completed first. Very easy to get around, most things are walkable, but lots of buses/trams if you want to go further out.
Lake Malta & the pools/sauna are an absolute must! Even in the snow it was amazing to be in the heated outdoor pool, looking over the frozen lake to people skiing down the outside slope!
It's my first time doing my weekend getaway trip in Poland since I moved here a few months ago. So, I picked up the city near Wroclaw, Poland. Poznan is one. This beautiful city really showed me the difference between cities in Poland. People are super friendly here and I choose this hotel is near the old town square just a few mins away by walk. This is a very new hotel and got everything you need nearby. Love the modern design of the room and the space is a good size as well. Give this hotel a try and let me know what you think.
Good no-frills hotel on the western edge of Poznań, well placed for those with business in the hospital district or other parts of western Jeżyce. Our two-bed room was absolutely fine, though adding a crib (which they did for free) made it a bit cramped. Parking in the back costs extra, but is well worth it if you don't want to hunt for a spot, especially in the evening (there's none on Bukowska Street). The historical images of old Poznań/Posen on the wall by reception add a nice touch.
This is about the fifth hotel I have stayed in when visiting family in Poznan, and so far the best. The location was great with one exception - see below. It is a very charming boutique-style hotel. Beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms. The breakfast was great. Staff lovely, friendly and helpful. We missed our flight home and went straight back to the hotel for a 4th night, which was very enjoyable as we found a delicious restaurant right around the corner, called Olivia
Lovely hotel right in the center of Poznan! Great value for the money. The room was spotless and had great air conditioning which was nice for the summer heat. The staff spoke excellent English and there was a luggage room to store bags before check in. The room was large and comfortable. Five minute walk to central square and about 15 to train station. I highly recommend!
- Clean room, larger than expected. Everything worked perfect, wifi, hot water. The big plus was the aircond, during the summer you definitely need some cold air. In Poland, very few hotels offer this.
- Polite and helpful staff, the boys at the reception were nice and professionals.
We recommend this hotel 100% when staying in Poznan.
Everything was great! We like a lot to stay at Puro’s hotels. Friendly and helpful staff, perfect location, near old town. Very good breakfast with a lot of variety. We will definitely choose this hotel for the next time again. Our compliments to all staff of this hotel, from housekeeping to reception and hospitality.
Hostel stonewall is wonderful. I enjoyed the entire stay...apart from getting to and from the main Poznan train station. I'm had to ask for help on every trip.
Hostel stonewall is very LGBT friendly which is quite a statement for an organization in Poland; Poland's very anti LGBT. I was surprised.
Lovely little hotel not far from the city centre, literally a minute or 2 walk and you’re there. Room was comfortable and clean, plenty of room. Staff were professional and friendly, couldn’t do enough to help and breakfast was delicious.
Hotel is well located next to the Malta Lake, a few minutes walk from Zoo and 20-25 minutes from the old town.
The rooms are basic but nice and comfortable. The breakfast was very good. There was no problem with late checkout.
The hotel has great location with easy access to the highway and the city centre. I was travelling with my medical assistance dog and we have felt very welcomed. The accessible room is well located and has good amenities.
Lovely place, a very good location, just about 20 minutes from the city centre. The hotel has a beautiful restaurant on the site with amazing food. I highly recommend trying the food in there as it is just excellent.
This is a beautiful hotel with very nice rooms. It's also within walking distance of Poznan Airport. The hotel was extremely clean and organized. The bed was comfortable, and everything worked as it should.
The hotel is fine, quiet, within walking distance of the Old Town and Pólwiejska street. And as for the breakfast, I can only say that it was absolutely great!
Hotel's location close to the city centre. About 15 minutes walking and closer to some pubs and shopping centres.
Good breakfast buffet and friendly staff.
The hotel is located close to the main train station, but it's also really easy to get to the city centre. The room was clean and the stuff really friendly.
