I travel to Sault Saint Marie for work every 2 weeks.

I travel to Sault Saint Marie for work every 2 weeks. It's got everything one would need when staying there....plenty of decent hotels, eateries and shopping areas. Sault Saint Marie is a town you pass through heading west, or heading east from Manitoba, through Ontario, or to Sault, Michigan.

We were here for fall train trip and it was nice. Not needed again though. We went to a different place for every lunch and dinner. We had 2 serving staff that weren’t of a spicy attitude. The other 2 were nice and friendly. The food was fair but nothing that was amazing. I won’t go to the Sault again. Very pretty area though!

We went for fall foliage and were not disappointed- it was gorgeous! Hike Robertson Cliffs! We also did the Agawa Canyon Train and, hmm. We had hoped for a spectacular train ride, and it wasn't. The canyon itself is gorgeous, but you get 1 1/2 hours there which isn't much considering the train ride is 8 hours r/t. Most of the other passengers were elderly though so it seemed about right for the less mobile. We enjoyed the canal site and all the historical markers, but unfortunately went on Sunday and discovered the visitor center is closed on weekends. Huh? The seaplane museum was open and fascinating.

I went to see my friends and that alone was priceless.

I went to see my friends and that alone was priceless. I went on the Agawa train to the canyon and it was just amazing stunning. The boardwalk along the river was beautiful. Transport with Holiday Shuttle express was super. Staff at the hotel in the Quality Inn were caring, friendly, helpful. Everything was wonderful.

No police in Sault Ste Marie?

No police in Sault Ste Marie? People were drag racing up and down the Main Street in front of hotel all night. Hotel was dated and shabby but clean. For the price it wasn’t good value at all. I’ve paid similar rates at hotels that were well kept and updated. It was clean and staff were nice though.

We drove north of Sault Ste Marie along Lake Superior.

We drove north of Sault Ste Marie along Lake Superior. Absolutely beautiful. We drove up to see the pictographs but I was not able to complete the hike as it was pretty rugged. But my husband did and he got some fabulous photos. Luckily he did not go swimming due to the wet, narrow ledge.

They don't have a breakfast. Location was fairly good on the main highway. It was recently renovated and the room was small, but very clean. It was quiet. It was close to a few fast food places. The desk guy was friendly and efficient and told me to give him a call if I had any questions. It was your typical small mom and pop type of operation. Traveling by myself I didn't want to spend a lot of money for a fancy hotel. Just needed a place to sleep, shower, relax, and find a place to eat. So it met all of these and I was satisfied.

Staff were exceptional. They were friendly, courteous, and eager to please. The rooms are spacious, clean, and beds are extremely comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic. Something for everyone. Very happy with this hotel. Location was fantastic, walking distance from canal, mall, casino, and boardwalk. Great views of the river too. This was our second time at this location, and will definitely be back.

The property was lovely, right on the lake, next to the art museum and close to the bush plane museum, however it was so windy and cold it was impossible to walk anywhere, plus, everything is closed on Sundays. There was no reason to stay in this town. We should have crossed the border. So my gripe is not with the hotel, but with my choice to stay there. It was too expensive for what it was.

It was the best hotel, I will recommend it to everyone and I will always stay there ourselves.. The rooms are big, there is a lot of space when the kids are small, there is a place where they can play, jump and run, there is a place for luggage, a small kitchen, which is very convenient. It's not a room, it's a spacious apartment...

Exterior is very updated and modern, front parking lot is very well lit and well managed. The bathrooms had excellent water pressure and had good Dove brand amenities, which you never find in hotels so that was great! Lastly, breakfast was great, staff were very friendly, and air conditioning in the room worked very well!

The room was clean and the bed and pillows comfortable. The shower was great and everything worked. Staff were friendly and helpful. I arrived in a deluge on my motorbike and was allowed to park it under the portico which I very much appreciated. This hotel is within walking distance of at least one decent restaurant.

Location was ok and friendly staff . For a two star hotel it was fine. So just have that in mind . The gent that signed us in was very friendly and had said that if we didn't like the room we could come back and get refunded. But honestly had long drive and didn't want to continue searching for a room .

In 2022 our family of four travelled across four Canadian provinces for 13 days in July, staying in different hotels each day, so the comparison is very objective. The hotel was newly renovated very clean and tidy, the room was large and the bed was comfortable.

Extremely clean . Great staff who helped us choose places to see on our Northern Ontario Road Trip. In close proximity to the boardwalk where we spent a few evenings... for a small motel this place is amazing and we stay at many places
