It is a small town with some good historical sites situated on a lovely lake and in the middle of an agricultural region. When we were there, the main museum was closed, and it was off season, and the lake was not right for swimming or water sports. In other words, low key. We were there to see the tile work as well as the historic sites. We also wanted a slow start after arriving in Turkey. We really enjoyed seeing a small town that in the off season is pretty ordinary. It gave us a great introduction to Turkish life. People were friendly there. A lovely place close to Istanbul that provided a good intro to the country.
