Amazing city. We had high expectations and it exceeded them.
Amazing city. We had high expectations and it exceeded them. We truly had great holidays. Little not here: we went in April and it seems to be the best time to go according to all the local people we talked to. Everyday, it was between 23-25 degrees and sunny, but the city was not super crowded because it was not yet high season.

The bells ringing hourly drove us mental.
The bells ringing hourly drove us mental. Charging 35 euro to walk the wall and 29 euro for a six minute cabe car ride are both extortionate.
It's a nice city but food and drinks are pricey compared to other places.
Somewhere to visit on a day trip not stay for a week like we did.

Dubrovnik is expensive.
Dubrovnik is expensive. About 50% to 100% as expensive as other Croatian places (Split, Zadar, etc.).
But in contrast to other Croatian cities, it did not lose its population. So, you have a specific spirit of the place. In history, their specialty was trade, diplomacy, spying and corruption.
In modern times, this translates into a city where waiters learn foreign languages during winter, where tourism is not without limits (noise is controlled, bags with wheels forbidden, etc.) and where the staff is attentive and trying to connect with the tourists.
So, expensive but I would say worth it.

The hotel property is amazing (sun gardens)....everything is at the property (restaurants, spa, and bookings for excursions if needed) - just a couple of hiccups: water kettle wasn't working so I called reception and they brought us a brand new one. The air conditioning wasn't working and still didn't get fixed - gladly we weren't in the high & hot season. Ok, my review on Dubrovnik: Gorgeous and clean area. food prices are EXPENSIVE....after speaking to other people, it's 50/50 on location. Some say Old town is more expensive and when we went there, prices were still high but in comparison to the hotel and outskirts, cheaper. We got scammed there with the rental car: Goldcar - lost 65bucks and then had to rent a car with another agency for about 170. Also, at the end of our stay after pre-paying our hotel, they charge a 7 euro daily "city tax" fee. I just feel like instead of relaxing, I had to triple check every charge. Driving there is crazy. Drivers are very aggressive...nearly hit us and saw a near collision with a pedestrian (older gentleman). There are a lot of speed cameras so we were cautious. One lady had her change at a gas station thrown at her because she was questioning a 35c charge (after she ordered her coffee) for the cup...yes, 35c for the cup. She's a tourist so she didn't bring her Stanley or a cup. It's like ordering a soft drink at McDonalds and at the end, they charge you an extra 35c. Didn't make sense. Folks weren't that friendly (except for a rare few).....all in all....if you have disposable income and are a huge fan of Game of Thrones, then go there and you'll have a blast. It was a one time event for us, we had fun as a family but won't go back.

Dubrovnik is a beautiful place with striking mountains and a wonderful, tightly packed Old Town.
We have returned from 7 days there and, frankly 7 days in not needed to see the sights - 3 or 4 would be sufficient.
Be aware that almost all of the tourist sights are in the Old Town, which gets very busy. We went in April and it was busy, I dread to think what it is like in the summer months.
The food everywhere we ate in Dubrovnik was delicious. There are lots of food options with many restaurants offering a good range of choice.

Superb historical town dubrovnik pass well worth buying we had 7 day pass one visit to main monuments much cheaper than separately went self catering apartment food in restaurants poor value for money quite busy even in early April but possible to avoid the crowds astour groups generally gone by mid afternoon
This is a truly amazing 5 star hotel. We stayed 4 nights in July and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. We stayed by the pool all day and enjoyed waiter/waitress service, fresh towels, piped music and great views out to sea of boats passing by. Breakfast was amazing, great choice and you could tell it was a Michelin starred chef who prepared the fresh hot food. Beautiful garden areas to sit and relax. Make sure you take photos from the top of the property at night with it all lit up. We highly recommend the Palace Natali.
Milo was the absolute best! From the ease of arranging the airport transportation to a wonderful greeting of a cool beverage, Milo was like family in an instant! The location to Old Town and the City walls was perfect for me. I could get there in a short walk. I loved and appreciated the hospitality and wonderful conversations during breakfast. The breakfast was plentiful and such a wide variety to choose from. The room was spacious and the bed was so comfy! When I come back to Dubrovnik, I will be contacting Milo!
Blue Promenade was charming, private, clean and comfortable. The host, Iva, was terrific and gave us great advice on things to do and restaurants to go to and how best to get everywhere.
The apartment had a well equipped kitchen (with a washing machine!). bathroom and free Netflix.
Iva left delicious fruit, apple juice and candy treats. All which we enjoyed. We liked being out of the old town where we could walk the promenade and see another part of Dubrovnik life.
Marvellous view of the sea from our room’s balcony. Incredible sunsets. Excellent staff. Great breakfast. There is a very scenic promenade that runs along the short for a kilometre in either direction from the rear entrance to the hotel. Very regular buses to Dubrovnik Old Town just a kilometre from the hotel entrance, with a great range of eating places in between. Dubrovnik itself is a marvellous location. My wife and I can’t recommend it more highly.
This nice place is just a 15 minute drive from the old town of Dubrovnik. We liked that it was some distance away from the center, because DBV can be very crowded and this place is not. The hotel provides everything one could ever want. Everything is nice and in good condition, the staff are super friendly, breakfast was delicious. The hotel has a very nice private beach and comes with several restaurants nearby and a lot of sport activities.
This small hotel (only 6 rooms) was a hidden oasis just 2min walk from one of the main old town entrances. From the private gardens you can also glimpse the water and it is also only a short walk to a little swimming spot with picturesque bars. The lovely staff were friendly, the room was 5 star newly renovated luxury and the breakfast was thoughtfully put together. If I ever make it back to Dubrovnik this is where I will stay!
Location was fabulous. Just a few steps from the main gate into old town Dubrovnik. Our host was a most lovely lady who spoke a little English and kept calling us "my darlings". So sweet. Did her best to make us feel welcome. We arrived late at night around 10pm from the ferry from Hvar. The room was on the ground floor which was a blessing in that we didn't have to lug our luggage us narrow stairs to the third level.
Everything! We spent 4 wonderful days at the Grand Villa Argentina. We were celebrating our anniversary and the hotel welcomed us with a nice bottle of Prosecco. The room with balcony was a dream, overlooking the Adriatic and Dubrovnik old town. The pool with immediate access to the sea was unforgettable. Staff very professional and cordial. Everything was excellent.
We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment looking at the sea, it was spectacular. Very friendly staff, very willing to help with our requests. Several restaurants on site, the one we ate at was delicious. Our stay was very short here but I would come back to this hotel for sure when staying in Dubrovnik if you want to be out of old town.
Loved everything! Especially how clean it is!
I travel around for work all the time and in Dubrovnik cleanliness is not a strength of most places. This is a solid 10!
Equipped very well, parking right in front, location just a short drive to old town. Checkin through hotel close by - very easy.
Will return.
starting from the very friendly and helpful staff to the beautiful facility, I am very satisfied with everything. Very clean hotel, with Copagabana beaches nearby as well as markets. the bus station is 50 meters away from the hotel, where you are in Old Town Dubrovnik in 15 minutes. I highly recommend.
Less than 1 minute walk from the main street of Dubrovnik old town. Close to Pele gate of the city wall. The room cost was reasonable to the other nearby hotels, but provided clean private room. WIFI connection was no problem, and good reception staffs.
Location location location! Perfectly located in Dubrovnik old town, right off the main boulevard. Very comfortable accommodation, clean, fairly spacious. perfect for those that spend their time outside the hotel and only use it for sleep.
Brand new rooms with a great design taste that are both spacious and comfortable. The bathroom also spacious and with all the amenities any 5 star hotel would have. Helpful staff and a great location in the heart of Dubrovnik’s Old Town
Best view of old town Dubrovnik. Amazing sunsets and sunrises. You can tell that the apartment has the best quality on construction materials and finishes. Good taste on the decoration, simple, modern, with a touch of class and love.
Very cute little hotel. Staff very informative about Dubrovnik. Second time to Dubrovnik but first time staying in the old town, it was amazing to be in the centre very close to all the old town has to offer.
The best hostel in Dubrovnik where I made a lot of friends and had a great time. Clean hostel with great staff and friendly atmosphere, right in the heart of the old town, all attractions are nearby.
Great location and unique decorations. I usually prefer a modern apartment or hotel but the vibe of Blue Symphony has that old town feel that’s perfect for a stay in Dubrovnik!
Rixos is one of the top luxury hotels in Dubrovnik for many reasons. Located near the Old Town, you have fantastic views of the Adriatic with amenities that are very modern.
