With the Acropolis as the jewel in the archaeological crown of Athens, this city is full of history while embracing the future. Take a stroll back in time through the neoclassical streets of the Plaka, where you'll find tavernas serving tantalizing souvlaki and mousaka, street vendors and live entertainment.
A trip to the Parthenon and the Agora top most lists and can also be appreciated from a distance by walking along the Dionysiou Aeropagitou street, which is away from the busy crowds of the city center.
The changing of the guard occurs every hour on the famous Syntagma Square. From here, Ermou Street provides shopaholics with a fashionable retail sanctuary. The upscale districts Kolonaki and Kifisia are also bursting with fancy boutiques, galleries and bars.
Athens has some of the finest museums in the world, such as the National Archaeological, Acropolis and Benaki Museums. From Athens International Airport to the Port of Piraeus, this is a city bustling with the old and new. On Booking.com you can find everything from modern hotels to a room in a classical building.
Athens in March is not overcrowded with tourists. Temperature is perfect for walking to all ancient sites and museums.
Most of the tourist restaurants have heaters outside because in the evenings it is a little too cold without coat and heater.

Definitely the place to be if you are into history and arts.
Definitely the place to be if you are into history and arts.
Also I noticed that recently it got elevated gastronomically.
Not a clean city and you could say that there is a huge pay gap between upper and lower classes. The fact that the city is not hospitable to the locals themselves, it makes it also not appealing to tourists. Everything got more expensive the last few years and you can sense that it drains the locals. Therefore if you are a person with a bit of sensitivity on social matters, it makes the whole experience awkward, to say the least. Last but not least, it doesn't feel like a safe place for women to walk alone during the night.

We're over 75, so a little more time would be good.
We're over 75, so a little more time would be good. After the Acropolis and Museum, we needed a day to recuperate, but younger travelers could do more activities. There are enough historic sites in Athens, and the surrounding area to keep you busy for weeks, if you want. It's amazing to see just the remnants of what Greece did over 3000 years ago.!

Athens is always Athens.
Athens is always Athens. So Many places to visit, so many things to do. Restaurants and shops for all tastes, great food and of course a fantastic night life.
The most important, Athens seems to be safer the last years.

The staff were so wonderful.
The staff were so wonderful. The rooms were clean and well equipped. Service was impeccable. Unfortunately what they don’t show in their advertisements is the street that the hotel is on .. it’s very rundown, however close to the main neighbourhood you want to be in.
Our balcony view faced out directly to an abandoned building which was extremely dissappointing. The breakfast was also not the best. extremely limited and not worth the €10. Go out for breakfast instead you will spend the same and have more options. Would I stay here again? Personally no. However it’s a great option for location if you’re not super picky about the things I mentioned above. Again, the staff were exceptional, the facilities were clean and very well taken care of, just not what we would have expected based on pictures and certainly didn’t love our balcony facing a slowly disintegrating abandoned building.
nice flat in athens, greece. The best host ever! Clean space and easy communication with them - I highly recommend staying here if you're planning a visit to Athens. At first glance it may seem like this apartment is just another boring hotel room but don't worry because your new home has all of amenities necessary for any traveler: comfortable bedding/ pillows ( Sheet panelles police!), free WiFi access along side kitchen amenities such as pots pans cups dishes etc., private bathroom complete wth shower.
We had the best stay ever! Room was super nice and super clean. Everything was in place even olive oil for cooking. My complements to the interior designer by the way!
Location is great!!! Just 50 metres from the metro and super close to Acropolis, the museum, syntagma, plaka, thhsio. . Neighbourhood is quiet and very safe. . Hosts are super friendly. . We stayed 3 kids and me. . Highly recommended to solo travelers, couples and families. . Thank you Sofia . . Thank you Greece!!!!
This is the second time that my family has stayed at this remarkable apartment. We liked it so much last year that we wanted to return. Odyssey Residence deserves the glowing reviews it receives. It is comfortable, very clean, and well equipped. The washer, dishwasher, and elevator are all extra appreciated, and it is a rare find in Athens to get 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms in 1 apartment. My family plans to make this home base whenever we are in Greece.
If your traveling to Athens, Greece on a budget then this is the perfect place to stay. The hotel has all the basics you need. It was very comfortable, centrally located in the heart of the city where you can easily get around to the many different neighborhoods and sites. Best of all the owners & staff were all really incredibly hospitable and friendly. I would recommend Hotel Tempi to anyone who are considering a short visit to Athens to stay here !!
We stayed here at the beginning and end of our trip to Greece and had a great experience. The apartment was clean with plenty of space for my family. We could walk to all of the sights that we wanted to see. The hostess always answered any questions we had quickly. One thing to keep in mind is that church bells rings on certain holidays and on Sundays in the morning in Athens. We would definitely stay here again if we are ever back in Athens!
Very good location and facilities but we loved the most was the excellent staff starting from George at the front desk when we checked in. We had requested an early checking because we reached the hotel by 11am. We got the room by 12. George even offered us a complimentary breakfast while we waited which was much needed after our long flight to Greece . Will definitely stay here again when we come back .
A 120 year-old building renovated into a gem of a hotel that breathes the history of the ciry with every fibre. It is situated right in the center of Athens with everything you need in front of your doormat. Sightseeing, culture, shopping, bars, … it’s all right there. The rooms are spacious and especially the bathroom… the best we have ever encountered in all of Greece!
The staff went beyond my expectations. They took the time to explain me how to spend my 2 days in Athens best and where to have my laundry done.
Also they have been the best in terms of (Covid) hygiene during my Greece trip (out of the 9 hotels i have visited so far).
Finally, there is a decent supermarket next door where you can buy water and snacks for a nice price.
Room larger than expected. Nice shower and comfortable bed. First hotel we stayed at in Greece that provided a washclotch, which was great considering how much we sweated. We arrived after reception closed and the hotel was very responsive about the process for late check-in, which was greatly appreciated. Good breakfast also. Can recommend this hotel.
The hotel served as my home base for my travels throughout Greece. As a result, the location was excellent for getting into Athens on the tram, connecting to the highway system for my daytrips to Evia, the Peloponnese, and to use the ferry service for a bit of island hopping. The location was close to shopping, and a wide variety of restaurants and cafes.
Good basic hotel from which to explore Athens.
V short walk to Syntagma Square for bus/metro links to airport.
Also an easy walk to ancient sites and museums (Acropolis etc) and to the hive of tourism activity which is the Plaka.
Better breakfast than we expected for the price.
Quite a quiet street; we didn’t notice any traffic noise at night.
We were 4 people (2 sisters and a couple). We each had our own room and own bathroom. The kitchen was well-equipped, the apartment spacious and a fabulous terrace. It was a great start to our holiday in Greece. We each had our own space and privacy and we could also be together. Very good location in the center of Athens.
Vouliagmeni Suites is a beautiful hotel located on the coast close to Athens, Greece. It is ideal to have a relaxing holiday, the personnel, from the cleaners to reception, (the George s, Dmitris and especially Maria) are superb while Yannis and his colleagues made sure we were fed and watered at all times. Superb!!
Very nice new hotel in the city center next to Omonia square.
The staff is friendly and always ready to help. Rooms are clean, good new beds. The cost is very affordable. Convenient to get from the airport.
Definitely recommend to visit this hotel if you plan to stay in Greece. I will gladly return to this hotel.
The hotel room was in an excellent condition, cleaning was impeccable, and the staff very friendly. Breakfast was good but I have had better at other hotels in Greece; however, compared to the standards of most other countries, it was excellent. In terms of location, Fix is a great neighborhood to stay in.
I really like the hotel staff, they went out of their way to help us. Special thanks to Irene, who wanted to make sure we were enjoying our trip and to give us advice. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone. We had the best time in Greece. Big thank you to Athens star hotel!
Location was perfect for what we were looking for. Walking distance to shops, sights and restaurants. Soula is an amazing host, very caring and welcoming! It made our last night in Athens and Greece in general special. Thank you🙏🏼
Nice flat in athens, greece. The best host ever! Clean space and easy communication with them, I highly recommend staying here if you're planning a visit to Athens. It has all of amenities necessary for any traveler!!!
The staff were so nice upon arrival and leaving. The hotel was beautiful and clean. They went above and beyond to accommodate us, very welcoming and friendly for our first time in Greece.
