San Antonio in Texas is home to 2 of the state’s top attractions: The Alamo and the Riverwalk. One of the city’s former Spanish missions, the Alamo was the site of a deadly battle that cost folk hero Davy Crockett his life. The other remaining missions - Concepcion, San Jose, San Juan, and Espada with its aqueduct - are dotted around the city. The attractive Spanish Governor’s Palace also remains.
The San Antonio River runs right through the city, below street level. Known as the Riverwalk, its banks have been cleverly developed to house riverfront restaurants, bars and shops, and are spectacularly lit for Christmas. There are several San Antonio hotels by the Riverwalk which are also close to the Rivercenter Mall, the city’s biggest shopping center, while La Villita artisan village has more traditional crafts.
Across the road in Hemisfair is the Tower of the Americas, a tall observation tower with a revolving restaurant overlooking the Alamodome, a huge sports and convention venue, home to the annual Alamo Bowl collegiate football game. Booking.com has several San Antonio hotels near the Alamodome, and more accommodations near San Antonio Airport.
On the outskirts of the city are Sea World and Six Flags Fiesta Texas. The city also hosts the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, one of the country’s biggest Western events.

We've been to San Antonio before but found plenty of new things to do. Especially loved the BCycles and the trail to the missions. Also walked north along the river walk to the Pearl (about 2 miles). San Antonio has done a wonderful job with biking and hiking trails.

The room had a view of parking. Mostly very quiet.
The room had a view of parking. Mostly very quiet. It seem to be a little older or getting time to repair a few things but it handled the need for a room that was fairly reasonable. Seem good for work crews and traveling on a tight budget.
Food options were not the easiest

I liked absolutely nothing abt this LaQuinta.
I liked absolutely nothing abt this LaQuinta. Our room was next to a drainage ditch with large pieces of trash in it. Homeless lived in a tent next to the ditch. The small rugs in front of all the rooms were torn and shabby. All areas looked unkempt. I will do my best to warn travelers away from this motel and this area.

I grew up in San Antonio and enjoy coming back as a tourist.
I grew up in San Antonio and enjoy coming back as a tourist. Doing less practical things that there wasn't the money to do growing up. There are still several things on the Riverwalk I haven't done yet.

Good experience, many things to do in the city and around it. Know the city and the attractions was beautiful and interesting. To visit the malls to get good prices in the shopping. San Marcos is an must stop.
The location of hotel was great. Being on the Riverwalk was wonderful. . The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good and the evening social was a nice touch. I think the snacks could have been changed from time to time at the social. There was nothing that I didn't like but there is always room for improvement.
The restaurant food was good but I think they could offer a bigger variety on the menu.. Overall it was a good stay and my husband and I had a great time. We would stay here again.
This gem on the Riverwalk is a true treasure. The building was originally a saddle shop, and the lobby tastefully provides a tribute to its history. And now it’s a wonderful boutique hotel in a vibrant city! The rooms are exquisite getaways, each with a spacious bathroom that includes a shower and a tub with jets. I really appreciate the fruit delivery in the evenings and the spa. The hotel is located on a quiet street but right above the Riverwalk and close to everything.
Nora, the lady who welcomed us to the hotel was exceptional she could not have been more helpful, she stayed late after her shift as our train was late to make sure we got checked.in ok and was full of useful recommendations . Location was perfect for our 2 night stay 10 minutes walk from the Riverwalk 15 to the Alamo if I remember correctly. No breakfast was included but lots of good value diners nearby.. 5 minutes walk from Amtrak in a safe neighbourhood
We enjoyed the friendly staff at the hotel. They would always say something to you when they walked by and had a smile on their face. They were able to assist us with any questions or concerns that we had while we were there. The valet was very prompt in getting our car when we requested it. The location was exactly what we were looking for, on the Riverwalk but not exceedingly busy. I would not hesitate to book here again.
This hotel has excellent service! Walter is one of the best receptionists I have ever met in my life. Polite, always helpful when I needed support, he always responded positively. He deserves a rating of 10/10. Incredibly comfortable bed. Very comfortable bathtub. This hotel is close to the center by car, as well as to the San Antonio Spurs arena, which was a key place due to my job.
This is one of the best locations on the Riverwalk. One block out the front door is the Alamo (I mean literally one block). Walk outside the back door and you are on the Riverwalk. There are bars, restaurants, and music everywhere.
The hotel is clean, comfortable, and staff everywhere to assist you. Finally the hotel is beautiful inside with gardens and water features.
Staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was a reasonable extra charge but very good food for a buffet style. For a location directly on the Riverwalk we felt this hotel was a good deal as it includes on site parking in their parking garage. One side of the hotel faces the Riverwalk and you might get a room on that side at no extra cost if you request it.
rooms are nice and clean it is an older hotel so keep that in mind but nice upgrade to keep the charm. Bed was comfy
there is no breakfast on site but a short walk to the Riverway you can grab some. It was close to all the nice places to go see on the Riverwalk and used the scooters to go to Alamo
The hotel itself was in a pretty good location although I thought it was on the Riverwalk based on what I saw online but ai was wrong. The breakfast was alright, not anything that impressed me but then again it was a Continental breakfast so not a good variety of actual cooked meals.
I loved that it’s on the Riverwalk. I love that they have free breakfast and dinner. Free drinks and popcorn. The staff is very friendly. I always tend to stay at Drury Hotels and this was my first time at this location. Drury never disappoints!
The inside of the hotel had a cafe and restaurant. It was also a really awesome design preservation of history has been great. Also an ideal location if interested in seeing The Alamo and the San Antonio Riverwalk.
Excellent downtown location. Riverwalk / Alamo close. Staff was accommodating and pleasant
Room was clean and large. Love this hotel.
When in San Antonio we will return to the “Druary”
The location was fantastic. Right on the riverwalk and within walking distance of everywhere we wanted to go. The suites were spacious, so we never felt cramped.
Staff and restaurants were excellent. So convenient to everything since it is on the riverwalk. The RIO cruise is located right in front of hotel at riverside.
Charming historic hotel. Didn’t eat in the restaurant but food looked good and very close to the Riverwalk. Rooms well restored, with nice new bathrooms.
