Guadalajara is a beautiful city but as women travelling together we didn’t feel safe. Most people don’t speak English so have to use translation apps. Try and speak a bit of Spanish. A big city to explore the multiple beautiful towns near by. Most of the attractions here are in the historic center while most of the dining and entertainment is located in the Chapultepec neighborhood. Again Guadalajara is an excellent base for day trips the towns of Tequila, Ajijic, and the Chapala lake and of course Tlaquepaque.

This is my second visit to Guadalajara.
This is my second visit to Guadalajara. We stayed for 3 nights in Guadalajara. One in Central Guadalajara and 2 in Tlaquepaque. The first night we went to Bruna Restaurant (modern Mexican) great food recommend. We then shopped in Andares mall. The next 2 nights were in Tlaquepaque, great place to wander around and see artisan, local products. Saw a few people sleeping on street but much fewer than I see in Portland, Oregon. I’m glad I got to visit.
