Ostend is fine for a couple of nights. Some good bar/restaurants where we had excellent steak. Good selection of great Belgian beers too. Ostend is only a half hour from Bruges (even quicker by train), so can be used a a base to explore Flanders. It's also only an hour or so from Calais (and on a good road) so easy to get to.

Ostend was very attractive.
Ostend was very attractive. There are lots of big green parks to wander through, and a huge sandy beach with a big promenade. There are lots of bars and cafes, and also some attractive old parts of town where Paris-style balconied apartments can be viewed. There are buses and trams in town, and the train takes only 11 minutes to get to Bruges for day trips.

I visited ManiFiesta, an annual festival of solidarity at the Wellington horse track. It takes place in early September and it's a wonderful opportunity to see live music and dance, but also for debates, films and to meet like-minded people from all over Europe. I met trade unionists from all across the world, amazing. So nice that you can visit the festival and also enjoy the beach and the city of Ostend.

We really enjoyed our visit, I guess we were lucky as we had our own personal tour guide, as our friend lives here!
We a enjoyed the architecture, took lot's of photographs.
The Harbour was lovely, everything was in walking distance.
If you are a lover of fresh Seafood, it's in abundance, lot's of stalls selling fresh fish of all description.
Bed was surprisingly comfy. Even though the room was relatively small, I still had enough space to move around properly. Basically for one person is more than sufficient, but I wouldn't be so sure about two. I'd say it's more of a weekend hotel or just to spend a night. Wouldn't recommend it to spend the whole day cuz it starts to feel claustrophobic after longer period of time. Also the heating self adjusting system is superb!
Easy to access from the E40/A10 . Close to town centre and park at the top of the street. Free parking for vehicles less than 1.8 m high and public car park close if you have a van . The most comfortable bed we had since leaving home. Worth every euro. Would recommend and will rebook next time in Ostend.
The apartament were comfortable on the ground floor. Also very well located in middle of Oostende close to tram stop and bus stop. The sea front at Oostende is a 10 minutes walk & a lot of shop and supermarket near by. Easy check in & the housekeeping was very helpful, the owner was very nice.
The owner Gerry was extremely responsive and helpful. The apartment itself featured a style which was quite unique. From the artwork to the huge golden lion, black marble and bathroom, - the place did not feel like Oostende, but like "Wakanda Forever".
The hotel was beautiful, recently renovated. The breakfast was well arranged and very tasty! The location was perfect. In the city centre, on the other side of the building was the beach! Also a parking garage close by.
Hotel Europe is centrally located in Ostend and it was an easy walk to shopping, the promenade and there were plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby.
Great buffet breakfast.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Very clean rooms, chairs for on the beach were in the room, coffee maker in the room, comfortable beds and pillows. Step out of the hotel and you are on the beach.
