Cute town with lots of paths to explore, shops to go in, and restaurants to enjoy. Views were incredible and sunsets a must. Trip to the crater was fun. Hot springs aren't hot. Beaches were difficult to walk on. Would have liked to spend more time in Oia. Buses are comfortable but crowded.

We had a blast exploring the entire island.
We had a blast exploring the entire island. We came during their winter when temperatures were 55-59 F, and for the first few days, had little sunshine and lots of wind. We definitely needed our warm jackets, and bought gloves and a hat. However, the last few days were sunny and delightful. Best thing was, there were no crowds, anywhere, in January. We are photographers, and delighted in the photos everyone comes to Santorini to get, without having to work around the crowds. We rented a small Fiat Panda from Sixt, and it took us up the switchbacks to Ancient Thera, down to Akrotiri to the ruins, up to Oia and around the island to multiple small towns to explore and photograph. We found some "local" restaurants that were open and filled, and sampled wonderful Greek food. It was a wonderful time, and we would come again in January to avoid the crowds!

Santorini is such a wonderful island.
Santorini is such a wonderful island. And Fira is such a great place to stay given that it is centrally located between Akrotiri and Oia, and not too far from the airport. Weather was fantastic for November. We were only a few blocks from the bus station which has buses running to all parts of the island fairly frequently (helps to avoid taxis which tend to charge a bit much). The sunsets from both Fira and Oia were magical, as are the walks along the charming streets of both towns.

Santorini is no longer a relaxing vacation spot.
Santorini is no longer a relaxing vacation spot. Five cruise ships were in port and, therefore, pedestrian streets were so crowded in Fira and Oia that you could barely move. I visited in 2011, which was nice. Friends warned me not to return in 2023 because of crowding but I disregarded their advice. They were right. Santorini would be wise to strictly limit the number of cruise ships. If you go there, try to schedule your visit when there are no ships in port. The day we left there were no ships and strolling around was actually a pleasure. It's a beautiful island - but overcrowded.
Our first experience in Greece, starting with a stay at the Limestone Hotel in Santorini, was nothing short of marvelous. The hotel's staff, brimming with hospitality and kindness, made us feel at home immediately. A special shout-out to the manager, Thrasos, whose exceptional service and local insights significantly enhanced our stay. The blend of traditional Greek charm and impeccable service at Limestone has set a new standard for our travels. We left with hearts full of fond memories, eagerly anticipating our next visit.
The hotel is conveniently located just a 10-minute drive from the airport and offers a stunning ocean view. You can enjoy the famous Santorini sunset right from your room or the poolside, eliminating the need to venture elsewhere. The room was spacious, clean, and equipped with all amenities. The staff, including Dora, Dimitris, Alina, Katarina, from reception and Panos from the restaurant, were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Kudos folks !
Villa Murat was amazing! My family stayed here for a wedding in Santorini. We can’t imagine a better place. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Fira. And the view from the roof deck is spectacular! The property is spacious and clean and has all the facilities and comforts you could ask for, including a hot tub with a view. Christina was fabulous! She helped us out with all our requests and made sure that my family had the best stay ever. Thank you!
We really enjoy our stay here. The hotel is near to the Fira main square and only one minutes away from the bus station. the hotel have cooking facility which is nice because we came in December and sometimes want a late night hot instant noodles. The owner also very kind to let us stay even after the check out time because our flight is in the evening and even give us some delicious cupcake. Definitly will stay here again if i come back to visit Santorini!!
We had a wonderful stay at Mythical Blue. The staff was AMAZING. We got to Santorini with no plans and didn’t even no how to start but they didn’t hesitate to plan everything for us. From Catamaran Tour to transportation everywhere we went. The views were breathtaking from out room, we walked all Fira from our hotel. Shout out to The Manager who was incredibly helpful with everything! thank you to everyone for making our trip unforgettable and memorable.
After arriving late to Santorini, Giannis and the rest of the Hotel staff made us feel welcome and we lost any travelers anxiety we might have had.
Staff were friendly, helpful and informative! It is a good spot from which to explore Fira.
Special thanks to the technician for fixing my bag so I could continue the journey with ease.
The breakfast was well organised and tasty.
Fira is a bustling place to stay but a must for a day or two while in Santorini.
The property is beautifully nestled into the cliff side in Firostefani, a small suburb of Fira. The hotel amenities were all beautiful and our room was truly incredible. All of the staff made sure to feel that we were provided with 5 star accommodations and they did. The food and drinks from the bar/restaurant were fantastic and all are very carefully thought out by the team. I would recommend staying here if you are looking for a hotel in Santorini.
San Giorgio is in a perfect location to explore Fira + Santorini. It's a short walk to many restaurants and view points and very close to the bus stop from which you can go visit the rest of the island. The room is perfect and cozy - had everything we needed. The hotel staff had great suggestions for places to eat and visit and we enjoyed their recommendations. They picked us up from the airport for free, which we really appreciated.
We stayed in Santorini for 4 nights. We moved a lot. We went to Oia, Kamari, Blychada, Fira, Imerovigli. The location of the hotel was perfect. 100 m from the Bus station.
The staff is very friendly! Alexandro speaks fluent English and Spanish.
The breakfast was nice.
Accommodations were always clean.
The swimming pool is beautiful! I really recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Santorini, who wants to move around.
Location was quite convenient, close to the centre of Thira, buses, restaurants (the taverna next to the hotel is great), a great bakery. It's a bit old and would need restoration but it was a nice stay. Complementary water in the fridge as I came unprepared thinking tap water is drinkable in Santorini like in continental Greece. The staff is super nice. Drying rack on the balcony.
We LOVED the hotel, mainly for their unbelievalbly hospitable staff. The pool was nice, and the breakfast was very good. The rooms, for a beach hotel, were excellent. Not luxury but really nice. And the hotel is a short walk to Fira, in the centre of Santorini (Thira). The staff, I can't sing their praise enough. Truly exceptional and especially Elpida. Just the best!
Everything was perfect! The staff were very friendly and offered us drinks when we arrived. The rooftop jacuzzi has an amazing view to take photos and watch the sunset. Location is close to Fira Centre, room was clean and comfortable. Thank you so much for such a lovely stay, this is the best hotel out of all the hotels we stayed in Santorini.
The kindness and availability of the staff. The rooms were cleaned every day. The staff was always full of good advices for the best spots to eat, visit… the free shuttle service from the hotel to Fira was really helpful. we recommend this hotel if you want to stay a few days and be able to visit ALL of Santorini.
The hotel is located in the middle of Fira and right on the escarpment.
The view from the very small balcony is magnificent including a perfect view of the Santorini sunset.
The room was well appointed with a particularly comfortable bed.
Breakfast is served at a roof top restaurant and the selection is good.
Most co-operative staff I ever seen, they give me check in 8 hours before check in time.
Best hotel, best location, neat & clean, free coffee/tea any time, if anybody is in Santorini/fira....this is best place to stay, all credit goes to there staff.
Excellent location close to bus station. Housekeeping kept our room clean and tidy everyday. Good selection of breakfast items. Well run family owned hotel. Alex very helpful and provided plenty of information about Fira and Santorini.
Beautiful property in Santorini - I daresay the only true five-star hotel in the area. Beautiful grounds, lovely staff, great location a few minutes’ walk into town. We had an early flight out and got breakfast bags to go, which was nice.
The hotel is very close to Fira bus terminal and easy for daily transfer to Oia or beaches in Santorini. The room is small but for the price you are paying for, it is considered good. Safe area and quite in the evening.
My friend and I went to Santorini and were recommended to stay in Fira. We were glad we found this location. Dimitris went above and beyond to make the experience a great one for us!
