Really well presented, great design, clean, spacious hut. Whole place was lovely. Really nice and warm as well. Kitchen was really useable. Beds very comfortable. Perfect for what we wanted.

The location was fantastic; 20 minutes tonStrayton and Mount snow!

Location is ideal as its only a few minutes walk to the main street with bars, restaurants and cafes. Plus there is amble, free parking at the back of the property. The room itself is excellent, everything was spotless and well decorated. The bathroom was lovely and we liked the option of the fridge and coffee machine. Would very much recommend The Stage restaurant and Soles speakeasy bar (which is great fun and staff are brilliant). We went to Lindy's Diner for breakfast and visited The Toadstool bookstore. If you interested in the Jumanji films, the first one was filmed here and the area was celebrating 30 years of the film. There are lots of film references in the main street (Parrish Shoes mural on brick wall) as well as a larger mural of the film characters and animals. There's also other interesting street art down the alley ways and we felt safe to walk around in the evening to check these out.

The cabin is situated in the Green Mountains in a clearing in the trees giving the feeling of isolation although there are other properties nearby. It is beautifully designed with an open plan kitchen/living space and double bedroom downstairs as well as another double bedroom in the loft space. It is bright and very well appointed with comfortable beds, a nice bathroom (on the ground floor) with plenty of hot water and towels for the shower and the kitchen is very thoughtfully equipped with plenty of cooking pots, bowls and utensils, coffee maker, full stove and microwave. We loved that Gene and Mary had left the makings for pancakes and maple syrup for our breakfast. There is a deck with table and chairs where you can sit and watch the birds in the woods. Just at the end of the driveway there is a small waterfall and pool in the river where you can have a dip on a hot day. The cabin is locked by means of a digital keypad which means no worries about keys. We received detailed directions on how to reach the property from Gene who also gave us tips on where to shop on our way in and local places to visit. We had a really relaxing few days here and would definitely recommend the Magical Retreat Cottage.
