The owners are incredibly kind, going above and beyond to make sure that their guests are comfortable. They drove me to my bus station too since I had an injured foot! The daily breakfast was delicious. The property is around 8 mins walk from the nearest convenience store, but being a bit far away from where all the tourists are was actually a positive point for me!

Super near the Yufuin JR station and there were many restaurants and mart nearby too. Accommodation was super comfortable and the bed is big! 3 rooms, 2 rooms with 2 super single beds and 1 room with tatami setup. The place was so clean and well-equipped. The host has been very helpful too whenever I had questions, deeply appreciate. Overall we enjoyed it a lot!

It's convenient, close to public transport and also close to many sightseeing areas. You also get a great view of Beppu from the area around the hostel. The interior of the hostel is fantastic, you could spend hours looking at all the decorations and talking about your favorite shows. Tosi was also an incredible host who went above and beyond to make my stay as special as possible.

Highly recommended if you’re visiting Mount Aso and looking for a ryokan-style stay, this place offers a warm welcome and great hospitality from the owner. There are also two cats, and you can take a walk to enjoy the surrounding nature.

Guests can take in the ambience of the surroundings from an outdoor dining area or keep themselves warm by the fireplace on colder days. At the villa, there is a dressing room for guests to change in. Easy 10 min walk from Uchinomaki station, so accessible also without a car (just watch the train schedule since trains are only once per hour or so). This is just one train stop from Aso station, so provides easy access to Mt. Aso and the surrounding area. The kitchen is fully equipped (cutlery, pans, condiments, etc) and there is a small grocery store nearby to buy ingredients. Rooms are large, and there is a kitchen, 2 bedrooms and a japanese - style bathroom. The piano in the living room was a great and unexpected bonus. We were passing through and only stayed one night, but it would have been a great base to explore the Aso area and we would have loved to stay for longer.

We feel so lucky to have met the hosts and been able to stay in this amazing home. Staying here is just an incredible experience, the home is stunning and fun to explore, the views are great and the hosts are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Our only wish is that we had stayed even longer.

The accommodation is non-smoking. Satomi was very kind, friendly, and helpful; also spoke great English. The apartment is fantastic, pictures really can't do it justice, it's got such a great flow and cozy feeling. We stopped by the Youme grocery store (also really neat compared to what we've seen in the US) and used the kitchen to heat up our meals. The washing machine worked great and was a lifesaver halfway through our vacation. Takeo itself is lovely, definitely pay a visit to the library and the camphor tree and both restaurants we visited were out of this world.

Live here like local Japanese do features a hot spring bath and free private parking, and is within 40 km of Kagoshima Chuo Station and 41 km of Kagoshima Station. It is situated 19 km from Kirishima Jingu Shrine and provides a shared kitchen. Yoshino Park is 35 km from the homestay and Reimeikan is 40 km away. Awesome host who spoke English. Perfect base to explore Kirishima mountain area.
