It's a real gem. The ryokan is different from the traditional Japanese style ryokan. It's really unique with modern and simple facility combined with great variety of artworks. The gardens designed by Kishio Suga is beautiful and meditative. Food was very good too.

First and foremost, the restaurant was AMAZING. Every dish (and there were many over 3 nights) was top notch. I would go back for that alone. Second, the baths. Stone bath, and whirlpool tub. Awesome.

The onsen was beautiful and the onsen egg was a special treat. The staff were fantastic and the value for money was incomparable. The kids had fun in the little throwback arcade.
