Offering a garden and mountain view, B&B Le Berceau is located in Chateau-d'Oex, 24 km from Rochers de Naye and 47 km from Chillon Castle. We chose to stay here on our hike through the Via Alpina, and would definitely recommend it. It is a working farm, so it's a rare opportunity to experience staying on a farm. If this is an issue for you, then this is not the place for you, however for those who love Nature, fresh yoghurt from the farm for breakfast, and want to spend a night or a few nights on a farm, this is perfect! We were surprised by the size of the room - it is very big with a big bathroom as well! Everything was clean and we had everything we needed for our stay. The hostess is sooooo lovely and we enjoyed our chats with her in our broken French mixed with English. The farm is located very close to the main village, and you can easily walk to shops and restaurants. If you plan to walk at night bring a headlamp or torch, as the road is not well lit up. For breakfast we got to try some local specialties such as the milk and yoghurt from their farm, some cheese from the region (later we went to visit the cheese cellars of the L'etivaz cheese which I highly recommend to anyone hiking the Via Alpina, as the hike from L'etivaz to Rossiniere is short enough, so that you can plan in a cheese tour at Maison L'etivaz, before. Maison L'etivaz is on the trail, so you can start your hike right after the tour and cheese tasting) Thank you for a lovely stay!

Set in Ballaigues, Chambres d'hôtes Chez Epicure is a historic bed and breakfast that offers free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a garden and a terrace. Audrey and Philippe are such wonderful hosts, we felt right at home! We came with 3 bikes doing a larger bike trek, and it was great to be able to store our bikes in the garage (and pump up the tires), have a great meal (both for dinner and breakfast) with produce and dairy from the region, adjusted to one of our vegetarian diets, and enjoy their company and hospitality. We also really enjoyed the sauna and jacuzzi as a way to relax after a long day of cycling. The village is pretty, and it's perfectly located along different outdoor routes (hiking/cycling). We stayed in the dortoir, which was exactly what we wanted! Many thanks.
