This is our second time staying at the Cidade and the umpteenth time we have visited it, since my father lived nearby for many years. It's one of my family's favourite places on earth, a true home from home, so I am perhaps not an objective reviewer, but I am a big fan. The location is picture perfect; the modest, understated architecture by the late, great Charles Correa is inspired by traditional Goan-Portuguese styles and blends pleasingly with the natural surroundings; the beach is gorgeous; the Indian food buffet on offer as part of the half-board plan is excellent; the facilities are what you expect from a hotel of its class. What is truly exceptional is the staff, who were uniformly warm, welcoming, helpful, and efficient.

Located in the City Center, the modern Vivanta Goa Panaji enjoys views of the Mandovi River and Altinho Hills. Providing a rooftop pool, it also has a 24-hour gym and pampering massage at Jiva Spa.

From the moment we were picked up at the airport we were catered to our every need with much preempted by the wonderful staff in The Astor Hotel. From the cleaning staff who left personalised messages in our room to the reception staff who organised shuttles. We visited with family with young kids, enjoyed everything about the property. Breakfast was exceptional spread to accommodate tastes. The rooms and facilities were very clean. Their restaurant Cinnamon had exceptional taste , accommodated kids likings and were consistently delivering good food. The pool was so clean that we went almost everyday and preferred that over beach. Spa was also so good. If you are traveling with kids, definitely recommend this property.
