Room was spacious & clean with all basic amenities. Sunila madam guided & helped with the places that can be visited inspite of the intermittent rainfall. Breakfast was too good. They have a huge collection of plants which will be refreshing.

In each unit we were surprised to find 2 big rooms which could easily accommodate 3 guests! There is a bed in the lounge area. And a double bed in the bedroom. Hotel is quite close to the Periyar shuttle bus stop. An auto rickshaw which can easily accommodate 3 pax charged ₹50/- to drop us there. Food at the Cinnamon Restaurant in the hotel was very good. We tried the local fish curry which was delicious! We also used the Spa facility for foot massages which was relaxing after the long Nature Walk in the Periyar National Park.

Lovely setting Room had a balcony and was spacious with nice arm chairs to relax in. Bathroom clean and spacious also had good toiletries and a hairdryer. Was nice having a small shop on the premises with a good selection of things to buy without pressure. Lovely atmosphere throughout the resort. Staff very friendly and attentive. Breakfast had a good selection with Indian food and some continental offerings. Fresh juice each morning. We had one dinner there that was delicious.

We had two wonderful days in our lovely cottage which was surrounded by nature. The setting was magical with spices growing all around and the sound of birds singing unique songs. The staff were very welcoming and helpful - they even booked our morning trek in Periyar Tiger Reserve for us. The spa was incredible as well - very relaxing massages! We also loved the food and I even had a cooking demonstration from the head chef. We loved everything about Amritara Shalimar and will definitely come and stay again next time we're in Kerala!

In the midst of our holidays we wanted a short break. Shalimar is the place to relax, be away of the hussle, swim, have good Ayurvedic massages, good service and we met very nice people in the resort. We were especially touched by our cook who prepared the best food and gave us lot’s of attention when he noticed that we really wanted to know more about certain dishes and spices.

Beautiful eco friendly resort in the middle of the jungle. Perfect place to relax and enjoy the tea plantations and do a safari. Good Ayurvedic massage at their spa. They also do a nice tour through their own garden and teach you about all the spices and plants they have. Would definitely recommend it.
