Right in the middle of Spreewald, you can rent a canoe on the spot and you are close to everything bike-related. Super quiet and peaceful, it was just what we needed.

We planned this trip as a last-minute escape from Berlin for the weekend. Our expectations of having a simple, calm, and relaxing weekend were exceeded in every possible way. The hosts were extremely nice. They offered to pick us up from the train station because we couldn't find any taxis after our train was significantly delayed. They were always approachable and helpful, even sharing some eggs with us for breakfast :) The facility itself had everything we needed. The apartment was spotless, with a nice kitchen, so we cooked our meals. The wellness center was well-built, featuring two beautiful saunas and a nicely heated relaxing pool. We were provided with bikes, allowing us to take a pleasant trip to the nearest village, Burg. We were very satisfied with our trip and are planning to come back soon. 100% recommended.

We arrived at Kauperhof on a snowy day and it looked just beautiful. We were welcomed into the house and we even got a little welcome snack board with local delicacies, a very thoughtful gesture! As we went in December, a few bits of Christmas decorations were dotted around the main living space, which we really liked. The house is spacious and offers a lot of space to spend quality time with the family. The sauna was perfect and one of the reasons we went (pool was closed for obvious reasons). We didn't want to go to a busy spa hotel during a pandemic, but the sauna was used by one family at a time and disinfecting/cleaning products were available to clean before/after you have used the sauna to make us feel more safe. The breakfast (Broetchen) service was handy to as we didn't have to find a nearby bakery (also think it would have been quite a journey to find one that's open). The bedrooms all have proper shutters, so no light would get through (especially handy in summer) and beds very comfy. The kitchen was well equipped (plenty of glasses, cutlery, plates) and we appreciated that washing up liquid, sponge and dishwasher tabs were available. If you already bring food for breakfast etc. it makes a big difference. Overall, I would definitely go again.

Absolute perfect place to explore the Spreewald. Burg has everything you need in walking distance and the staff has great recommendations as well. The houses are really modern and nicely equipped, the terraces are great and it is fantastic that there is even a sauna

Featuring free use of the indoor pool and sauna facilities, this former 13th-century palace stands in a large park in the peaceful village of Fürstlich Drehna, set in the Spreewald Forest. The accommodations blew us away in a very pleasant manner. We wished we had had more time to explore the beautiful grounds and perhaps take a tour of the property. Breakfast was very adequate; our family was 4 adults and one 4-year old girl. My hubby and I were in the castle; our family of 3 were in the adjacent building. While we wished we could have all stayed in the castle, walking between the two buildings was not an issue this beautiful September weekend. My granddaughter took great delight in saying "let's meet in the middle", meaning the bridge over the moat between the two buildings.
