This restored 17th-century manor house in large gardens has a bistro restaurant and a spa with 20-metre indoor pool, a gym, steam rooms, saunas and treatments. Only sugar cubes for breakfast, so I couldn’t add any to my cereal. Staff ok but lacking in experience. Reception staff very unwelcoming.

In a quiet village setting, just off the A12, outside the ancient Roman town of Colchester, this modern hotel offers great value with free parking and an indoor pool. The property was absolutely amazing. The stay was really wonderful and the staff was very lovely. Would recommend to anyone, hands down!

This modern Golf and Country Club Hotel is 4 miles from Marks Hall Gardens and Arboretum and 9 miles from Braintree Shopping Village. The room was very nice and very comfortable . First class shower. Best in England and in Europe. The lighting was also the best 4 start hotel we had in this European trip. Very efficient breakfast with staff extremely nice attitude. We would love to go again.
