It was a very cozy quiet place. The private Onsens were very relaxing, a short walk to the ski area. The food was amazing!

Breakfast in the room was fantastic. The hotel was beautiful, amazing aesthetic and very comfortable. The staff were super friendly and very helpful. Private onsen was incredible after long days on the slopes.

Situated in Hakuba, 9 km from Tsugaike Kogen Ski Area, Petit Hotel Shitaka features accommodation with ski-to-door access, free private parking and a spa and wellness centre. Stayed 4 nights leading up to new years for a family ski trip. Rooms are a little outdated but well kept, bathrooms are private (huge plus over shared options around the area, good soaking tub), good ski in/out access to Happo one report (right next to Shirakaba 2 lift, can ski downhill a bit to reach Gondola), decent public bath with hot dry sauna. Very friendly staff.

Set in Otari and with Tsugaike Kogen Ski Area reachable within 2.6 km, Hakuba Alps Hotel offers a tour desk, non-smoking rooms, a garden, free WiFi and ski-to-door access. We enjoyed our stay! Before we book the room, some reviews said that the room was rather old because the property has been there for years, so we were worried about the facilities especially the shower room. However, the room we were given exceed our expectations! The room was clean, we had a good sleep (FYI 1 pillow for each single bed), the room heater worked well. There is a space for us to put 1 large suitcase and 1 medium suitcase, and a space with a table for us to have our meals. Do note that there is no microwave in the room (that we stayed in). The shower and toilet seat heater worked well, indeed the toilet looks old with a few stains here and there but it didn’t bother us. We had an amazing stay and shout out to Mr Ayabe and the staffs, they answered all our inquiries and helped us when we needed during our stay! Moreover, we planned to ski at Norikura Ski Resort which is just infront of the hotel. There is a basement floor inside the hotel that is meant for skiiers/snowborders - there are lockers to store your equipment which you don’t hv to pay or rent (its given when you stay in at the hotel), there is a rental shop to rent your gears and equipments (relatively cheap compared to outsides rentals). But do come early if you are planning to get your gears!! Besides the great facilities provided such as the onsen, public shower bath, games room, there is also an ice cream vending machine!
