Located in Yamanouchi, 4.1 km from Jigokudani Monkey Park, Shoraiso provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. It is by far the most outstanding place we have stayed in throughout Japan. The level of service excellence, the amenities and the attention to detail reaches heights unmatched by any other place we have seen or stayed at.

Providing mountain views, Hotel Higashidate is located in Yamanouchi and provides a wellness area with a sauna and a hot spring bath. Such an amazing location in ShigaKogan! We had a top floor onsen room that was spacious, comfortable, modern with the luxuries included (massage chair, private onsen, and private dining with a 10+ course dinner every night - some of the BEST Japanese food I have eaten). While the staff had limited English they were beyond accommodating and were happy to for us to use translation apps and appreciative of our poor Japanese language skills. The staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful in arranging our luggage transport and assisting with our departure. Some of the floors of the hotel are a touch dated...but it added to the charm of our stay and overall experience. We will definitely be back :)

Situated in Yamanouchi, 20 km from Jigokudani Monkey Park, Chalet Shiga features accommodation with a restaurant, free private parking, a bar and ski-to-door access. Immaculately clean. Staff were attentive to how we liked the room set up, and learned to accommodate us after cleaning and changing consumables each day. Huge and delicious meals for breakfast and dinner with a wide variety of options.

Located in Yamanouchi and with Jigokudani Monkey Park reachable within 20 km, Diamond Shiga provides a shared lounge, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi throughout the property and a restaurant. Location- literally opposite the ski lift. Staff- professional, polite and accommodating. Meals- for the price, it was excellent. Room size- my room for 2 could easily fit 4.
