Cozy ryokan with a wonderful outdoor onsen and a friendly and helpful owner. Highly recommended!

It is by far the most outstanding place we have stayed in throughout Japan. The level of service excellence, the amenities and the attention to detail reaches heights unmatched by any other place we have seen or stayed at.

Such an amazing location in ShigaKogan! We had a top floor onsen room that was spacious, comfortable, modern with the luxuries included (massage chair, private onsen, and private dining with a 10+ course dinner every night - some of the BEST Japanese food I have eaten). While the staff had limited English they were beyond accommodating and were happy to for us to use translation apps and appreciative of our poor Japanese language skills. The staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful in arranging our luggage transport and assisting with our departure. Some of the floors of the hotel are a touch dated...but it added to the charm of our stay and overall experience. We will definitely be back :)

Staff were attentive to how we liked the room set up, and learned to accommodate us after cleaning and changing consumables each day. Huge and delicious meals for breakfast and dinner with a wide variety of options.

Location- literally opposite the ski lift. Staff- professional, polite and accommodating. Meals- for the price, it was excellent. Room size- my room for 2 could easily fit 4.
