River Retreat Garaku offers luxurious modern rooms and suites for a peaceful getaway on Jinzu River. Food: The Japanese style breakfast and French dinner were both exquisite. Room: Fabulous view of the river from the room. Clean, cosy and you can find many little things that show the thought put into the design. For example, there is a small sliding window between the bedroom and the bathroom that you can open and close. Spa: The experience was so pampering and relaxing, I fell into deep sleep and woke up feeling incredibly refreshed.

Open from June 2016, Toyama Onyado Nono boasts hot spring baths and is located in the heart of Toyama City, a 15-minute walk from JR Toyama Station. It features free WiFi and a restaurant. I booked this hotel because my friend enjoys onsen, and it completely exceeded my expectations! The entire hotel is tatami (traditonal Japanese flooring), so you leave your shoes in the shoe lockers near the front desks. The hot springs were so nice- the staff give everyone information on how to properly use the facilities, so don't worry if you aren't super knowledgeable. The front desk also has patches to cover small/medium sized tattoos- if you are unable to cover your tattoos you are not allowed in the the hot springs. There was also free ice cream for after your bath. Breakfast was also great. All around, I highly recommend this hotel of you don't mind being a bit away from the station.

Overall service was good, spacious bed, quiet environment, well-behaved and welcoming staff, and the property was super clean.

Hotel is only 10 mins by car from Tateyama station where you can take a wonderful Tateyama-Kurobe Alpine journey. We stayed in a very spacious, clean and comfortable Japanese style bedroom with a beautiful mountain view. Although the shower room is small, it is well lit, comfortable, and has a strong shower stream. Japanese dinner and breakfast are excellent. We also enjoyed onsen and open bath facilities. Worth mentioning is the warm welcome by the hotel staff.

Ideally located just a 1-minute walk from Uozu Station, this hotel features spacious public baths, complimentary coffee services and free-use internet PCs at the business centre. Facilities and extras are top-notch! We had a massage chair in our room, free ramen, and a communal onsen that nobody else used when we visited. Glad we stayed here after a long journey from Tokyo. 👌

We appreciated the prompt check in when we arrived. The front desk employees communicated with us in our language of English which was greatly appreciated. The rooms were visibly clean as was the entire hotel. Breakfast was pretty good! The eggs were especially delicious.
