Boasting a garden and views of garden, Chambres d'Hôtes Le Clos des Marronniers is a bed and breakfast situated in a historic building in Douvres-la-Délivrande, 13 km from Memorial of Caen. Well maintained and exceptionally restored home. Breakfast was good. Staff are very friendly and kind but slightly struggle with English but we never had a problem. Secure private parking was helpful. The grounds are quiet and beautifully maintained.

La Pêcherie d'Utah, a property with a garden, is situated in Audouville-la-Hubert, 28 km from Tatihou Fort, 35 km from German War Cimetery, as well as 43 km from Pointe du Hoc D-Day. We all loved the location, it was very calm and tranquil and enjoyed watching the horses as they were trotted around the running track and within the farm area. The kitchen was well equipped, as due to the very rural location it is a little drive to restaurants in the nearby town and we prepared several excellent meals after visiting the Super U Supermarket at St Mere d'Eglise. The beds were also very comfortable and so we all slept well after our numerous excursions to the many sites and museums within the area. We also had good weather so were able to sit outside and enjoy the peace and quiet with a nourishing glass of wine!

Gite de la Motte is situated in Litteau, 24 km from Cathedrale Notre Dame de Bayeux, 24 km from Museum of the Bayeux Tapestry, as well as 29 km from Zoo of Jurques. The hosts were very kind. I struggle with French, but with Google Translate we got along fine. Despite a mix-up on the arrival time, we got into the property with little hassle. The property is large, and the hosts are kind enough to let you visit their small menagerie of goats, sheep, and a donkey (our favorite, Ipsilon). Good sleeping options, and a warm fire for the cool nights made it very cozy. The kitchen was pretty well equipped, and there is a washing machine if needed. It was close enough to all our destinations (Mon St. Michele, beaches, etc) that it made a good base station. Very pleased we found this place.
