Innsbruck is one of Europe’s prime ski resorts and surrounded by beautiful alpine scenery. It's also the city from where Maximilian I ruled the Holy Roman Empire during the 15th century.
This legacy lives on in the picturesque old town, where baroque buildings with pastel facades and the imperial Hofburg Palace offer a glimpse into the past. Learn all about it at the iconic Goldenes Dachl (Golden Roof), a building covered in over 2,500 copper tiles and built to honor Maximilian.
Flying into Innsbruck Airport, the Alps' snow-capped mountains tower on the horizon in every direction. The mountains are a playground for winter-sports lovers, with Nordkette Mountain featuring slopes fit for international skiing and snowboarding competitions.
This time of year is also popular thanks to Innsbruck's laid-back culture and wide selection of chalet-style bars and restaurants.
The summer, on the other hand, is ideal for hiking, mountaineering, and golf. If you're looking for another slice of regional history, be sure to visit Ambras Castle – an incredible Renaissance-era citadel once home to Archduke Ferdinand II.

This was my first solo trip and I absolutely loved it.

This was my first solo trip and I absolutely loved it.It exceeded my expectations and would definitely recommend. It's nicer to visit out side season times and feel like your part of the city and not like a tourist.Just walking around Innsbruck was one of my favorite things to do.I don't recommend buying the city card as the in city transport isn't expensive and the most worth the activity was top of Innsbruck. The near by villages you can visit for €4-€6 per ticket from the small train station and would definitely recommend this for hikes!! Overall I'd definitely be visiting Innsbruck again⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We stayed for three days, which in my opinion, is ample time to explore this town. The most important things to do include: 1) visiting the historical center and park - naturally, these should be your first stops; 2) the panorama - Innsbruck's Peak. It's quite expensive, but missing the opportunity to view the city from the peak of the surrounding mountains would be a significant loss. Don't forget to bring warm clothing and a jacket. There might be snow on the tops even in summer; 3) the Swarovski museum - this is a must-visit, even if you're not particularly fond of Swarovski!

Innsbruck is fine but much preferred Zell am See which is smaller and more compact, a nicer feel and the beautiful lake. Luzern is also preferred, larger and more expensive than Innsbruck but with a lot more character and things to do.

Fascinating and interesting city, lots of history and culture to be absorbed in a short visit. Easy to get around, local transport services excellent. Don’t miss the Botanical Gardens, a hidden gem in a quiet part of the city. We found the Fischerhause restaurant at Herrengasse 8 was particularly helpful with gluten-free food, it’s a very efficient and friendly establishment and the food makes it well-worth seeking out.

Innsbruck has an interesting old town with all its main features in easy walking distance. There is a great variety of restaurants and cafes. The weather will play a big part in any holiday to Innsbruck. In good weather, it's delightful. In bad weather, it would probably not be so appealing.

Innsbruck is a beautiful city completely surrounded by snow capped mountains. The cable car is a must with fantastic views over the city. The Ambras castle is also worth a visit, a beautiful castle with a wide display of armour.
