Sydney Central Business District
In downtown
Sydney’s "CBD" is a hive of commercialism. Shopping is the star attraction – explore the Queen Victoria Building and Pitt Street for luxury and brand-name stores, or venture to The Strand for boutiques. Hyde Park is Sydney's heart. When night falls, trendy wine bars and flashy nightclubs come to life.

You’ll never run out of things to do here. WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo, Star Casino, SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium and Madame Tussauds provide hours of fun, and kids will love the playground at Tumbalong Park. Kings Cross
0.8 miles from downtown
The bright lights of Kings Cross sum up its atmosphere perfectly – flashy, brash and a bit loud. "The X" (in local lingo) is the city’s premier nightlife area. There’s an abundance of restaurants, clubs and bars, and the area can get rowdy on Friday and Saturday nights!

The tree-lined streets, historic buildings and quaint shops give Potts Point a Parisian feel. Heaven for foodies, there’s no shortage of bars and restaurants. Stroll down to Embarkation Park. As Australia's largest city and home to the iconic Opera House, it's no wonder Sydney is often mistaken as the country's capital. Whether you're into history, nature, fashion or food, this city has it all.
Many of Sydney's most popular attractions are in the compact downtown area, including the Opera House, Harbour Bridge, and countless restaurants and shops. There's also a large selection of museums and galleries like The Art Gallery of New South Wales, the Museum of Sydney, and the Australian National Maritime Museum. And for some fresh air, be sure to visit both the Royal Botanic Garden and the Victorian-style Centennial Park.
On the way out to the Eastern Suburbs, you'll find the world-famous Bondi Beach, frequented by surfers and swimmers alike for its big, warm waves. Another main attraction is Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, offering panoramic views over Sydney from its West Head lookout point. Then check out some Aboriginal rock paintings and cave art at any one of +800 well-preserved archaeological sites.
Sydney Kingsford Smith International Airport is about 5 miles south of the city and can be reached easily by train, bus, and taxi.

You will simply fall in love with Sydney.
April 2, 2024
You will simply fall in love with Sydney. At first glance, the city is a bit crowded with tourists, but actually everywhere you can feel the peace and good mood. Everybody's so nice. And I recommend you to sit down at the Opera House, enjoy the view of the Harbour Bridge and have something good at the Opera Bar. Wonderful.
The most pleasant and helpful people imaginable.

The most pleasant and helpful people imaginable. Offers to carry my bag up stairs, escorting me rather than simply pointing directions, a jogger carried my bag and gave me an Uber ride as a gift. (Note: I am neither attractive nor young.) A beautiful city & harbor. Excellent art at Gallery of New South WalesLots of stairs. The Royal Gardens lush and well maintained retreat. Reasonable prices. Enjoyed food in Chinatown. About 70 stairs up to Opera House that was barricaded by cyclone fence. Opera House tours were all booked.
We booked the Executive Suite.

We booked the Executive Suite. It had separate sleeping quarters. Loved it. The room was great, I just wished it had a microwave and a ice machine on the premises. The service at the hotel was spot on. I arrived hours earlier than my check-in time and they had my room ready 1 1/2 earlier than expected. 👏👏 Loved the food at the hotel restaurant. A very accommodating staff and the location was outstanding. 95% of what we wanted to see was in walking distance. Big thanks to the hotel receptionists and house keeping. Get the microwave and I'll stay there every visit. 🙏

Overall we as couple planned for four nights stay at Sydney since it was a perfect holiday plan in terms with activities we were wanting to capture during our stay at Sydney such as harbour bridge, opera house, blue mountains, Bondi beach, zoo and other well known locations.
We loved it.

We loved it. The harbour area is fantastic - really interesting historic area (The Rocks). Lots of access by ferry to some gorgeous places - Manly, Doyles restaurant at Watson Bay, etc. Lovely botanic gardens, very good museums including the art gallery. Good transport system. Tour of Sydney Opera House is a must. There are obviously beaches nearby too.
We toured and met friends and family.
