Toledo Half-day Tour
Located 70 km south of Madrid, Toledo is an historical city listed among UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites. It’s one of the oldest towns in Europe, with architectural styles encompassing many eras from Arabian and Gothic to Mudéjar, Renaissance and Baroque. Christians, Muslims and Jews have lived together in Toldeo for centuries, earning it the nickname ‘The City of the Three Cultures’. It was also home to the great painter El Greco, whose many masterpieces – such as 'The Burial of the Count of Orgaz' – are proudly displayed in the city today. This tour lets you see El Greco’s works up close in St Tomé Church, as well as buildings like Toledo Cathedral, Santa María la Blanca Synagogue and Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes. You’ll also get to see a demonstration of the famous ‘Damascene’ technique of metalwork, which involves the incrustation of precious metals like gold and silver onto steel.
