Residents busily run errands and older visitors enjoy the sea breeze on park benches. For a taste of Blackpool’s glory days, head to the legendary North Pier, where stand-up, bingo and palm-reading are the order of the day.

For a beach holiday along the western coast of the United Kingdom, head to the seaside city of Blackpool. Its golden sandy beaches and multitude of theme parks are sure to delight visitors of all ages.
One of the top things to do in Blackpool is to visit Blackpool Pleasure Beach – a historical amusement park renowned for its old-school rides, live performances and fast roller coasters. A short walk along the Promenade will take you to Sandcastle Waterpark, where a range of exciting water slides await you. Further down the coast, there’s a popular indoor entertainment centre, Coral Island, which offers arcade games, a casino as well as rides in a pirate-themed setting.
Add a bit of old-world charm to your Blackpool holiday by visiting the iconic Blackpool Tower. This late 19th-century landmark is home to an observation platform and a magnificent ballroom where you can waltz to the tunes of a Wurlitzer organ. A quick stroll towards the coast and you'll reach Blackpool Illuminations – a seasonal light show featuring artistic displays. For a relaxing time, head to Stanley Park which has gardens, a lake and a bandstand.
Blackpool’s Irish Sea coastline is a major attraction for holidaymakers. Divided into three sections, it features not just golden sandy beaches but several other places to visit too. At North Pier, you’ll find souvenir shops, bars and cafés while the South Pier has a Blue Flag beach and amusement arcades. The Central Pier features a massive Ferris wheel.

Blackpool is a vibrant town, there’s a bit of everything, for everyone. Great for families, couples, small groups. Plenty of choice for food and drink, loads of things to do. But, some of the side streets away from the sea front can be a little rough.

We loved our day at the pleasure beach, and the following day was spent taking in the sights and on the piers and beaches. The pleasure beach was fab, most of the rides were running and with glorious sunshine it was a brilliant day out! The beaches and the piers are well kept, the piers have the usual arcades and funfair rides that the kids thoroughly enjoyed, we ate out at the pub, velvet coaster and couldn't fault the meal we ate there.. pretty decent for weatherspoons fair... avoid the mcdonalds tho!! Found an hair in my meal, inside my burger.. for me I couldn't eat the replacement they offered so I gave it to the homeless man and his dog outside!! He shared it with his dog, he seemed to thoroughly enjoy it!
The streets of Blackpool beachfront are disgraceful.

The streets of Blackpool beachfront are disgraceful. Cigarette butts everywhere, rubbish everywhere. Do the footpaths ever get a washdown? You’ve banned smoking indoors and that just pushed all the smokers out on the footpath. I understand Blackpool is struggling economically but you need to push a bit more of the tourist dollar back on cleaning the place up a bit. On the positive, the Comedy Carpet is one of the best local attractions I have been to. We spent hours looking at the display. Unique!
I loved everything about blackpool.
May 25, 2023
I loved everything about blackpool. The seafront, with the North pier, snd south pier. The magnificent Tower. The trams. Pubs, arcades, shops. The people were friendly.therecare plenty of fish and chip shops as you would expect. You easily walk from the North to the south for the pleasure Beach rides. If you can't walk, then the trams are readily avaliable

We had 3 nights there and it was fantastic my granddaughter absolutely loved it, the beach is gorgeous and clean and all the piers are great and very easy to travel between throughout the day on the great tram service, the only downside we had was the very expensive prices of sandcastle and pleasure beach, maybe it’s worth it for older children but not for toddlers
Loved our accomodation Vinnnies family hotel.

Loved our accomodation Vinnnies family hotel. Love sitting at the beach, the choice of eating places especially the variety of different cuisine. The friendliness of the staff on the North pier. People watching. The tram is the best way to get around one every 10 minutes.
