Commerce is at the heart of modern Siam. Siam Paragon and the Siam Center are filled with cell-phone clutching fashionistas and tech-savvy urbanites shopping for clothes, electronics and more. Head over to the petite designer stores in Siam Square for a more boutique-style shopping experience, or to MBK Center for souvenirs, electronics and more.

Sathorn
3.3 miles from downtown
Sathorn is Bangkok's Financial District, its sights mainly confined to office blocks, hotels and embassies. However, it's not all business. Art aficionados should check out M.R Kukrit’s Heritage Home: a former Prime Minister's home, now a museum; it’s a gem of Thai architectural style.

Riverside
1.7 miles from downtown
Pop a bottle of champagne open and slip into thousand-thread-count sheets in Bangkok’s capital of luxury. There aren't many major attractions here besides the smaller temples and shopping areas, but it’s great for a bit of dining too. Try Asiatique for dining and décor, or head to River City Shopping Complex for unique knickknacks.

Bangkok is undeniably one of Southeast Asia’s most energetic capitals. The city center is an exciting mix of old buildings, enormous shopping malls, and holy shrines that can take days to fully explore. Hunt for souvenirs in the Chatuchak Market or visit the shining temples of Wat Arun and the Grand Palace’s Wat Phra Kaew, considered the most sacred Buddhist temple in Thailand.
After the sun sets, Bangkok’s legendary nightlife kicks into gear. Take a walk down Khaosan Road, famous for its endless stretch of bars, restaurants, and street food vendors all packed together under a wild array of neon lights. Pad Thai is Thailand’s signature dish, but foods like mango sticky rice and “gieow”—a minced pork dumpling wrapped in wonton dough—are definitely worth a try.
Getting around Bangkok is part of the fun, whether you’re balancing on the back seat of a tuk-tuk in Chinatown, cruising past the floating markets on a long-tail boat, taking the metro or just going on foot. Also, Suvarnabhumi Airport is only 30 minutes away by train or taxi.

The Saan location is great as easy walk to BTS, ferry and ICON. Also two 7 11s nearby and two great coffee shops on the way to BST. A further comment on Saan ....new 2 x 7 story towers with a cool pool in between. The cafe / breakfast / coffee shop will open end of March. Any aircon problems reported by others earlier I'm told have been addressed. No problem with ours. We like a flat pillow so ended up buying our own.

Bangkok is an amazing city with everything from highrise ultra modern buisness districts and malls to little wooden houses with small streetfood stalls outside. Its life in full color and the city is a must see and experience, Very chaotic but people seem to be so polite and in general relaxed. Woudl definitly see the Reclining Budda the City Center, Take a boat trip around the cannals Id avoid the resurants around the grand palace seems like allot of over priced food for tourists. Very easy to get around via Taxi ( use Grab or Bolt apps ) and skytrain. Many people speak a bit of english so communication quite easy. In the warmer months its extreemly hot but the bubble tea sold everywhere is can really help with this!

It’s a modern city with skyscrapers galore yet it is exotic and has wonderful temples such as Wat Arun, Po and Emerald Buddha temples. Good transport links to avoid road traffic including river boats, sky train and a version of the London Underground. The brand new Icon Siam shopping complex on the river is amazing.

I and a big fan of Bangkok is great I had no problems, the people are friendly and respectful, the city is interesting, good shopping if thats what you like and lots of it. Plenty of coffee shops, bars, wine bars huge choice of restaurants and street food. A busy city with lots of people but with lots of place to relax and forget where you are. Thai food for me is really delicious so good at good prices, there are many different food types to choose from other than Thai, you want a burger and fries you got it. Anything can be ordered and delivered to you hotel. Cash is king but there are plenty of place's that take cards but often with a 3% extra charge. Always set the price before getting in a taxi, unless metered.

Bangkok is a a very busy city, the locals are very friendly and accomodating. Local public transport, Taxis, Tuk Tuks and Motorbikes are a very cheap way of getting around. The heat and humidity can be somewhat uncomfortable, but Hotels and Shopping Malls are very well air-conditioned. Great place to vist...
