Pattaya is one of Thailand’s most popular tourist destinations and for good reason. Packed with bars and nightclubs, golden beaches and tropical sceneries, Pattaya buzzes with a hedonistic pulse. Visitors that look beneath the surface will discover a place with rich cultural heritage too.
One of Pattaya’s most popular attractions is Pattaya Beach, a golden stretch of sand perfect for relaxing during the day and partying well into the night. If you’re after something calmer head down to Jomtien beach. It’s not as busy as Pattaya Beach and offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy water sports such as jet skiing, parasailing and windsurfing.
A holiday in Pattya isn’t complete without exploring Walking Steet. The street closes each night to vehicles so that visitors can make the most of the enormous range of bars, nightclubs and restaurants. Scenes of revelry fill the neon-lit strip, offering a sensory overload and timeless memories for partygoers.
There are plenty of cultural monuments to visit in Pattaya after a late night of fun. Check out the Sanctuary of Truth, an intricately carved wooden temple that features various Thailand architectural styles. If you feel like a little exercise, head up Phra Tamnak Hill to see the temple Wat Phra Yai, known for its large golden Buddha statue and sweeping views of the area.

Enjoyed being able to swim in the sea - walk on the beach.

Enjoyed being able to swim in the sea - walk on the beach. Go to Koh Larn Island to swim in clearer water - ferry cheapest option but you can pay for private speedboats to take you. Enjoyed going to the shopping Malls - Terminal 21 is wonderful to see. Very easy to get around once you use the songthaews & very cheap option. Wonderful street food everywhere.

Basaya Beach Resort is located just 50-100 meters from the beach in Pattaya, Thailand. The hotel is right next to Beach Road and convenient for transport to entertainment centres and restaurants and shopping centres. Walking street is just 1km from this place in a straight line. The hotel is insulated from traffic and other noises and has a nice swimming pool, eating area with sun loungers, parasols, large parking space and it's own shop for buying small items.
Pattaya Central is PARTY central.
June 18, 2022
Pattaya Central is PARTY central. It is loud and fun you can not take ten steps without walking past a club, or bar. There are hundreds of Adults only activity places. There are fantastic accommodations and places for Travelers on a budget There are also high-end restaurants among five-star Hotels. The local Thai food is amazing and there are thousands of food vendors that offer amazing focal food at amazing prices. Or if you do not care for the local cuisine there are hundreds of restaurants offering, European and middle eastern food choices. The beach is great for relaxing and being pampered. IF you want to swim I would recommend Jomtien beach that is about 10 minutes away by Baht bus etc. Love shopping? You will LOVE Pattaya Central!
Do your homework before you go anywhere on vacation.

Do your homework before you go anywhere on vacation. I lived I pattaya for 15 years. Before covid it was known for adult entertainment. It has 2 modern shopping outlets. Terminal 21 and central but they are not cheap. If you want beaches go south culture go north or modern city go Bangkok. Of course it depends on your budget. Hotels in general in Asia are good value v the West.
Pattaya - well - I suppose you either like it or you hate it.

Pattaya - well - I suppose you either like it or you hate it. Walking Street is in miserable condition. Now, after more than 2 years of closure, when they open, they start the road works and renovations. I mean - what have you done the last 2 years Thailand? Most clubs closed. Looks like a chabby dark alley in a development country. Soi Buakhao - well - if you like those type of massage shops and bars and the far too noisy trashy music - go for it. Plenty of them around Tree Town. I'm either grown out of these things or I'm not old enough yet as most customers are men well above their retirment age. I cant add any photos cause it was not worth taking them.

I am visiting Pattaya since 1987 on a frequent basis, and it has something for every taste. For those enjoying action, shopping and night life I would recommend Pattaya City, for those who like a relaxed beach holiday as family or couple, I recommend Jomtien Beach and beaches South of Jomtien. With a car plenty of nearby sightseeing can be reached, apart from all the beaches that can be explored: temples, floating market, regular markets, wake boarding and water skiing, go cart, winery, view points, water parks etc.! On the culinary front it would take a life time to explore all options in greater Pattaya, and most are good because bad ones have little chance to survive...
